United States and the Twentieth Century The two main dilemmas of democracy are following: 1) If people are equal, why there is no even a slightest practical proof of it, throughout the history? 2) The assumption of people's equality contradicts the most basic laws of natural selection, upon which modern biology is based. Therefore, we can talk of equality, as rather highly abstract concept, which has nothing to do with the realities of everyday life. In United States, we are witnessing left-wing political powers trying to enforce the equality, by the mean of affirmative action. While proclaiming that their ideals are peace and tolerance, they automatically apply the label of racist to anyone, who does not subscribe to their point of view. The totalitarianism is still alive, although it tries to appear as something different from what it really is. But once we see that the concept of uniformity is being promoted, which denies peoples natural instincts, we should know that we deal with totalitarianism and there is nothing good can ever come out, as a result of it.
George Orwell, in his brilliant novel Animal Farm shows the cheer stupidity of the concept of equality, which disregards the laws of nature. At the same time, he shows that the democracy will inevitably turn into tyranny, if the principle of equality applied universally. The motto of his communist farm, where animals ruled themselves without being exploited by man was All animals are equal but pigs are more equal than others. This goes to show that the true equality, and consequentially democracy, can only exist among truly equal. Can we really say that the savage from Africa, whose vocabulary consists of 200 words, the Arab from Afghanistan, who would be happy to die, if he was able to kill a few unbelievers, and White American, whose predecessors had built the wealth of this nation, from the scratch, are equal, in every sense of the word?
For anyone, who hadn't lost the ability of logical thinking yet, the answer will be negative. Therefore, the democracy will fail in multicultural societies, like America, although it is the best form government, in racially homogeneous societies. For example, the democracy existed in Britain since the 17 th century, although that officially, this country was, and still is, a monarchy. On the other hand, Mexico was being proclaimed as democracy in 19 th century, but only the reason why we still can find this country on the map, is because of corruption and despotism, which cements Mexicans, as the nation. The reason is simple one cannot expect donkey to stop being donkey, even if it is continuously being called a horse. The two main antidemocratic ideologies of 20 th century, are traditionally thought to be the communism and Nazism.
There are many left-wing intellectuals, in our time, which try to convince us that Marx's ideas were being wrongly interpreted and that theyre essentially beneficial to mankind. I would like to refer them to the only time in history, when Communist ideas were being deployed in its purest form Cambodia, during regime of Pol Pot in 1975 - 1978. Marx wouldve been proud of this bloody dictator, for exactly following his recipes that were written in 19 th century: abolition of family women are shared whether they want or not, 12 hours a day working for food, without holidays, everyone wears the same gray ropes Pol Pot rightfully thought that this was only the way to ensure the equality. On the other hand we have National-Socialism, which only appears to be a tyrannical ideology, while its essence is democratic.
Let us not forget that the first democracy in the world was ancient Sparta, which many historians consider to be the first Nazi state. Even back than, it was known that equality can only be maintained among those, who are equal biologically, that's why, in Sparta, the government's foremost priority was insuring the quality of its people. Therefore, another antidemocratic ideology, along with communism, in my opinion, is liberalism. This is because the apologists of liberalism only use the great ideals of democracy, to serve their secular agenda namely, for making more and more money. Liberals try to socially stabilize society, at the expense of depriving individual of its constitutional freedoms, like freedom of speech or freedom to own firearms. They strive for the security, at the expense of freedom.
But as Benjamin Franklin once stated: Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
