End of History End of history means collapse of the communism and beginning of worldwide movements towards democratic processes and free market systems. End of history means the end of old epoch and the beginning of the new one. Communism is the political system existed in Soviet Union, Central America, and in the Eastern Europe (East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania and some others) since the end of the World War II till 1990. After collapsing of communism and falling iron curtain the democratic elections and processes took place in every former communist country. The entire communism system was told to be self-destructed.
Elections in Latvia, Estonia, East Germany lead to more democratic governments, because people were really tired from the command economy, they had practically no chances to achieve something. It is also necessary to define main reasons why communism has failed and why the history has ended. It is known that agriculture's of some communist countries failed because they were not suitable to collective and state farms. The collapse of human services involving health and children welfare was notorious. Communism countries failed as planned economies. These counties have never even tried to put an optimal plan into effect.
There were also problems based on environment. But the communism countries even worsen all the problems instead of solving them. Communism collapse was conditioned by political situation, because ruling class lost confidence and trust in the political regime they had implemented.

It is apparent that these two categories have to meet in synthesis in order to live in peace. Communism failed to achieve this and democracy became the only system to manage this dilemma. Communism is likely to be not competitive with new developing representative democracy. People were unsatisfied with the ex-regime, because they had practically no rights to run their own business or to trade freely. (Mandelbaun 2003) All suggestions mentioned above were proved, because nowadays 62 % of the worlds 192 nations are democracies.
It is seen from the statistics that democracy significantly decreases systematic violence involving conflicts and wars. The end of the Cold War, collapse of communism, liberal trends were the evidence of considerable decline in total interstate wars, revolutions, ethnic wars and conflicts. The number of refugees and displaced persons decreased. All these facts prove that the history ended and new historical period with political democracy and free markets began. (Mandelbaun 2003) Liberalism and democracy have profound impact on the modern world. They proclaim such values and ideas which were prohibited in communist regime: free expression, individual liberties, individual liberty, religious tolerance, human rights, private property, etc. but the main advantages are the popular sovereignty, free market economy and limitations on government power.
All these trends were absent in communism and therefore it has failed. Liberal democracy has spread most parts of the worlds countries. Democratic and liberal trends in the are associated with support for free markets as an ordering principle of society. The major opponents of free markets were always socialism and communism. 20 th and 21 st centuries are strongly characterized by movements towards political democracies and free market systems. 20 th century transition to democracy have come in successive waves of democracy.
As it was mentioned it is the result of communism collapse, revolutions and wars, World War I. The number of liberal democracy is growing for all the time. This trend will continue in future until democratic states becomes the standard form of human society. (Mandelbaun 2003) Free market economy is the opposite form of command economy preferred by communism. Command economy in contrast to free markets is the type of economy where all decisions are strictly controlled by the government.
