Injustice in a soul Justice is a very important part of our life. It is important not only in the modern life, but belongs to that things, which are eternal and the disappearing of which could even cause the disappearing of the world in general. We are all natural people and it is common knowledge that everybody of us has a soul. However, everybody has it because the concept of the soul is absolutely inseparable from the concept of the existence in general. So, strictly speaking, what is an injustice in a soul?

Personally for me, it is first of all some kind of not having so much liberty as you need and not perhaps not being satisfied with yourself etc. My opinion is like that, because if one has an injustice in his own soul, first of all he is unjust relatively to himself, but nobody more. To my mind, such a person should feel strange having something grave and even possibly unnatural in his mind and thoughts. There are a few things which everybody to a greater or lesser extent has or must have in his soul. One of such things is, of course, a justice. Among the things we are talking about one can also name courage, wisdom and temperance.

But, it is also worth mentioning, that everybody has his own understanding and explanation of such virtue as justice. Anyway, one can make his own choice. In the modern world it is not so easy to be just. Sure, it is much more easier to let an injustice in your own soul than to suffer from some unjust things caused by somebody else.

To my mind, it is something like a defense reflex, when one cant struggle anymore with some things he doesnt like, finally he lets these things in his heart and soul in this way protecting himself. It is a quite wide-spread phenomenon nowadays. By the way, some sociologists even can call that as a conformism. Plato made numerous attempts in order to define what is justice in reality. He created a couple of ideas, which are disturbing the present.

Reading the Plato's dialogues on the human nature, about the foundations of morality, discussions on the nature of justice, one can see that the ancient author taught that justice should be present both in the structure of our society in general and in individual separately. Plato considered, that a free member of a society is inseparable from the state whole, which he belongs to and that depending on such relation all the principal philosophy questions are to be resolved. The ancient author also mentioned one very interesting aspect: the structure and formation of the peoples souls correspond to the structure and formation of the peoples estates, or the so called classes which finally form a commonwealth. Touching upon some facts about the social organization we may remember that is a common knowledge fact that the face of the society depends much on every individual which is its member. Thats why one cant say that the human being and the being of the society today is full of justice.

He also sais, that those, who find in their life too much injustice and unjust deeds, like a child who was suddenly waked up with a light are being frightened and in future expect only bad things. And those, who doesnt have any unjust deeds lying on his conscience, always would be accompanied by with a wonderful hope (331 e-b). I think it is a also question of some pureness of ones soul. Generally, the four cardinal virtues as wisdom, courage, justice and temperance are the verily absolute reasons of being of everything existing today.

Plato also talked much in his works about arts, literature, and the importance of perception in general. In order to perceive one must have the four cardinal virtues like a courage for not to afraid of learning something new, a justice and a wisdom to analyse and to know how to use new knowledge in a proper way, a temperance which is quite a necessary thing in all the studies and, of course, a great desire. On this example Im trying to show how important these four cardinal virtues are. Moreover, my example touches upon thinking. As far as one can remember, a wonderful proverb exists: Cogito ergo sum, which could be translated as Im thinking, thus Im living.
