... life's blood on the cross so that others might live. In Blood Works a woman permits the harvesting of her heart upon her death so that another person may continue to live. This idea works with the organ transplantation: apart from some cases of liver and kidney transplantation a person has to die in order to let another one live. This is beautiful both in moral and medical sense, because where two lives could be lost, one can be saved. But this theory is right only if a person become a donor due to the accident, but not the planned sacrifice for it.

Otherwise it leads to immoral exchange which is typical for minds like Buddy. Serial killers are always people with mental disorder, and for Buddy the life and death is just the game between good or evil, or between him and Terry Mc Celeb. This movie is about the steps required to resolve the mystery and find the killer. As clues are found and facts are realized, more of the story unfolds and more of the motives are understood. Mc Celeb received Gloria's heart and he found himself responsible for her family, for her sister and her son. He wants to repay the debt and return at least some share of happiness that they were robed off.

This movie is about the return of the debts: Mc Celebs debts to Gloria's family and Buddy's debts to Gloria. Again, in this theme this movie is close to the Biblical texts, which say that everyone would receive that he deserves. Buddy's mental disorder could have saved him from the death sentence, but it could not save him in the face of God. The fact, that Buddy was not taken by the police, but was killed by Terry's hands in their final battle symbolizes that he was guilty in the Face of God, and the earthly law was not applied to him in death, as it was not applied to him in life. The drama Monsters Ball reveals the life of three generations of prison guards. The main character Hank lived with his father Buck and his son Sonny.

They live in the contemporary South and all are exemplary racists. They all worked as prison guards on death row. Sonny wanted to get out from this occupation; he has bad emotional reactions on the executions. Sonny searches his way in life, he wants his fathers love, support and acceptance. Hank doesnt love Sonny, just as he doesnt love his own father, who was transferred to the old peoples home. This is a gradual, yet sudden relationship that is not based on physical attraction or love, but emotional need and depravity.

Leticia's husband was sentenced to death and Hank executed him. Later Hanks and Leticia's lives collide. Leticia's son was hit by a car and Hank helped them get to the hospital. Leticia lost her son and they both, Hank and Leticia both lost their children and help each other to fill in the voids they have in their lives.

The movie Monsters Ball is about the monster that lives in every person. It is up to ones own decision if to let out this own inner monster or keep it jailed inside. Hanks life had been cold and empty, he had been disappointed in life and the life in turned proved tight his suspicions. He observed death sentenced prisoners for all of his life; his own son didnt live up to his expectations. He tried to suffocate his own monster, as well as he executed the prisoners, whose monsters led them to the death. He suppressed his son as well, but he failed and Sonny's monster led him to death too.

Hank failed to see that too much oppression and severity could let out a completely different monster: the monster of indifference, which is the worst one. Indifference can ruin lives and families, as it had done with Hanks life. The movie Monsters Ball shows that good could be born from the very bad. Hank observed criminals for all of his life, his son failed his expectations, but he was open for love to the African-American woman even athwart his racism and indifference.

This movie calls to another movie discussed here, The Salton Sea. It shows that in any circumstances the person can find strength to change his life for better, especially when he or she has help and understanding of another person. This story shows that evil surrounding can break the person, but if this person remained humanity, he can resurrect again. This movie also refers to Drew Todd's words, because it shows the victory of the law in its apogee, the execution of criminals and their execution. But it also shows that nobody can remain untamed, even indirectly or internally while dealing with crime. But humanity and love conquers it all and give us hope.

Matchstick Men is different in genre, it is a criminal drama with the side of a comedy, which tells the story of a con artist turning straight. This movie succeeds on so many levels. It works as a great comedy, as a wonderful morality play, and as a drama about very bad people doing very bad things. Roy is the neurotic con artist, who possesses numerous obsessions that are being shown through various quirks and rituals. His partner has even greater criminal imbibitions. The movie focuses on Cage and his attempts to reconcile himself with a past wife and child he left when his wife was only two months pregnant.

He decides to get in touch with his ex-wife to see if he's a father. He finds he has a 14 year old daughter, who steps into his life to try and build a relationship with him. After many twists and turns of the Plot Roy comes to Heather to ask about his daughter Angela and understands that she had no daughter from him. Some time later he meets Angela and her boyfriend in the shop. They acquire so sort of truce, and when the girl asked him if he wanted to know her real name he answered that he knew her name. This movie tells the story of three lost people, who try to express themselves through the con art.

For Roy and his partner Frank crime is not something they do out or necessity, dependency or addiction. It is just the game for them, some kind of art in which they try to perfect themselves. It is a very sad part of the movie, because talented and clever people waste their lives for cry only because they were good at it. Roy the father tried to find way to the soul of his supposed daughter Angela. There was a long and easy road to reconciliation for them, but finally Roy accepts the role of the father. He was trying to find his daughter, but in the end he found himself.

The final talk with Angela is essential for the movie. When Angela wanted to tell Roy her name he answered said to Angela that he knew her name. The meant the she accepted her as his daughter not in blood, but in mind and spirit. He embraced his knew life and knew she was the part of it.

By pretending to be his Daughter Angela offered Roy now life and became his mother in it. That bound them no less then blood tie. Apart from difference in genre from the four above discussed movies Matchstick Men carries the similar message to us: crime corrupts the person. Corruption leads to the irreversible end unless the person looks on his life and changes it. Criminal person abandons moral values, which makes him seemingly strong in the face of menace.

Instead, such inner emptiness makes him more vulnerable: he has nothing to fight for apart from his own hide. And vice versa, a person physically or materially weak, but emotionally stable and humane would fight with greater force, more violent and has better chances for success, because he has something to loose. To prove this statement we should only recollect any war from the history: during the American Civil Was American people, even lesser in numbers and weaker in fighting skills were meant to win. The truth was on their side and they had their families and their land to loose, while English soldiers righted on the foreign land, while their families were safe at home. The same is with crime.

The movies tell us only the natural outcome for any evil. Any crime can be defeated, because it is weak in its detachment from human nature. Only those who follow the ethical and moral rules would succeed. The movies only teach us subtly these ethical rules and help to fight with our problems in real life. Bibliography Caruso, D.
