Limitations on Constitutional Rights on Freedom of Speech Freedom of speech is one of the vital elements of democracy and it evaluates, in some portion, the position of any particular country in its establishing of democracy. In this research paper we will evaluate the current state of development of the freedom of speech in United States, South Africa and the Republic of Cameroon. At one hand United States has its Constitutional Rights on Freedom of Speech ratified in 1791 and on the other hand South Africa and Cameroon have changes of the status of their attitude towards the freedom of speech. Personally, I think Freedom of Speech should be restricted but sometimes the punishments are too harsh. Why should I do anything but to try and stop hate speech? It doesnt have any purpose or socially redeeming value, so why not just outlaw it all and be done with it?
