Through the many characters of John Steinbecks Of Mice and Men the author of the book attempts to depict the beauty and variety of living on Earth. However, the two main players - Lenny and George, outweigh the abundance of figures. Throughout the book these characters are line fr a place t, lay their hats. They had been in a lt f table in the past, mainly t the misfortune f Lenny's incompetence. Many things contributed t the critics pain f Lenny and Gerge's bothered and loyalty tward's each ther. ne f the biggest reasons fr their being local r nt, is when Gerge sht's Lenny, many f the critics use this as a comparison.

Sme critics understand that Lenny is nt very bright, and Gerge is nt much smarter, therefore, their relationship is just c incidental, but ther's believe that the tw characters are very local t each ther. Demand Mac Carthy believes that Lenny and Gerge are very local t each ther. Mac Carthy says, Like a child, Lenny level t make Gerge repeat ver and ver again the story f hw happy they will sme day be together in a shack f their wn... (340). When he says this, he believes that when Gerge tells Lenny the story, Gerge des it because he has feelings toward Lenny and is nothing but local t him. Mostly, however, Mac Carthy refers t the part in the story in which Gerge sht's Lenny.

Mac Carthy explains, Lenny flies t the place where Gerge had tld him t g if he ever gt int table. And Gerge finds and sht's him, while telling him t lk where the little huse stands which had s nearly become their wn (340). This covers t Lenny and Gerge's loyalty because why would Gerge tell Lenny the story he tells him many times before, when he sht's him. This shw's that Gerge cares very much fr Lenny and know that if he des nt sht Lenny, then see else will, r give him a see painful death. Again, comparing loyalty, t when Gerge makes the decision t kill Lenny.

Mre puts drastically, He attracts sympathy because he has t lse his friend Lenny, t whm he has been s local, and whm he has t kill at the last in re t save him frm the ther's (342). Mre actually puts in that print f his critique that Gerge is local t Lenny. Mre makes the comparison t loyalty, why would Gerge tell the story f them living ff f the land t cart Lenny is feeling insecure. Such as the day in which they camped ut, before entering the ranch, the first night they stayed at their new jb, and when Gerge had t kill Lenny. Mr. Mre believes that Lenny and Gerge are very local.

Stark Yung, however, believes that Lenny and Gerge are nt local t each ther. Yung, unlike List, relates the tw mens loyalty t when Gerge kills Lenny. Hw could a man g through with killing see, and that see being a person he knew fr a lng time (Yung 339). This is a meaning within itself. Yung can believe that a persn's best friend would sht him, just s sme ther people could nt sht him instead. He is saying, that best friends can just sht each ther.

Yung writes strongly that if Gerge was really Lenny's companion, he would find an alternative way t getting Lenny ut f the situation. Yung states, A man can treat a person like that and still be local t him (339). Yung is referring t the beginning f the bk when Gerge des nt trust Lenny ging t the Ranch the day that they are supposed t be there. Yung firmly believes that Lenny and Gerge are nt local t each ther. I believe that Lenny and Gerge are very capable f holding a friendship, because being intelligent has nothing t d with a persn's feelings. Gerge, in the beginning f the bk seemed nt t be local because f the way he treated Lenny.

Thought the bk he develop int a well-rounded and local friend. Although, when Gerge sht's Lenny in the head and kills him, I totally disagree with it, because I personally would try t persuade the full inmates frm the ranch nt t kill him. I think because f Gerge's incompetence, he believes that spring Lenny is the best thing t d. Lenny, however, stays local t Gerge thought the entire bk. In conclusion I believe that Lenny was very local t Gerge, fr the mst part, I believed that Gerge was nt entirely local t Lenny. All f the critics had different penis abut Lenny and Gerge abut being local and nt being local.

Although, all f the critics mainly brought their feelings toward the part f the story when Gerge kills Lenny. Therefore, Lenny and Gerge's relationship is undecided, and is really up t the readers t decide their view f loyalty. Lnliness Have yu ever felt like yu had nude t talk? Everyone that is living in this world all needs t have see there t talk t. They need see t help them ut with problems. People feel better king that there is see there t care fr them.

In f Mice and Men also everybody is likely. N ne has a friend, family member, r relative. A persn's need fr companionship is important because it gives them a read fr living. Crk's is a stable buck wh lives all by himself in a little shed that leans ff the wall f the barn. That little shed is called a harness rm, he had bks like the dictionary and the California civil cde fr 1905. He was a put man and a man wh had n interest r feelings.

Crk's is a closed man and the ther workers d nt treat him with respect. He never has any t talk t because everyone tells him t keep his distance, s he tld them t keep their distance frm his rm als. He liked it when Lennie and Candy were in his rm talking t him, but he covered his pleasure with anger. If he had see t talk t he will nt be s mean because all his feelings are held inside, he can nly think t himself. He will become stressed and frustrated is he hides all his problems. Curly's wife was a very likely was.

She was married t Curly but he did nt take care f her. She did nt have any t talk t and she was nt able t talk t any else because the guys will get in table. She had the eye which meant that she was a flirt. She was really nt happy with her life. Curly's wife kept saying that she was able t be smew here better and be ding something better. She said that she might have been a model r an actress.

She did nt like her husband curly because he never paid much attention t her. After she died, she like like she was in peace. When she lay there in the hay when she was dead, she like like she finally gt what she wanted. Candy was a very ld man that worked as a swamper. He had a very ld dg that he had since it was a pup. The dg was just like his best friend but the men that were staying in the same bunkhouse as he was, said that the ld dg stunk.

Everyone wanted him killed, s Slim sht the dg fr Candy, s that he did nt have t d it himself. Nw Candy is all and. He know that he will get fired sn because he is s ld. He als understands that the bss is nly keeping him at the ranch because he lst his right hand a t the ranch and he feels sorry fr him and he als feels responsible. He kept planning t have his wn place with Gerge and Lennie because he was s likely and wanted somebody t stay with. Everybody in this world needs t have somebody.

They would feel much better living everyday. Everyone needs companionship, it is really important because yu can get help and advise frm ne anther. Crk, Curly's wife, and Candy were all very likely people because they did nt have a friend r anybody t talk t at all. Candy had a dg but the dg was nt able t talk back, s that was different. Curly's wife had curly, but he never cared fr her and he did nt talk t her much. Crk had nude at all; everybody treated him bad because he was a black man.

This shw's that everyone really needs a companion, a friend, a relative, r a family member that is always there t talk t. Bibliography: Gussman, Julius. Steinbeck Through His Works. Dublin: Dublin Publishers, 1987. Jugass, Joseph. Classics of American Literature.
