Why Journalism Was So Important To Me In My High School Career Journalism was extremely important to me as a high school student. Since we learned at a very early age in our history class that freedom of speech was one of the most important things in our constitution, Journalism struck me as the career that uses this the most. Everybody should have the right to speak their mind, and as a journalist, it is possible to spread the thoughts of as many people as possible.
