The novel Robinson Crusoe is the remarkable masterpiece of the English literature and a pioneer in the genre of adventurers novel. Daniel Defoe wrote his novel in his fifties. The full title of the novel is The Life And Strange Surprising Adventures Of Robinson Crusoe. Daniel Defoe succeeded to put almost the whole plot of the novel into its title.

This reflects the Defoe's own way to belief. Through his own perception of his desperate state Crusoe says he repented without any instructors or advisors.

Curiously enough, it was his very rebellion against his father and the "Middle Station" that put him in a position to find God on his own, something that may not have happened if he had obeyed and merely accepted the "hand-me-down" religion and lifestyle of his father. 5 We know that Daniel Defoe did not accept the cleric career because of his own religion understanding. Even when the rebels who tried to seize the vessel were left on the island it is not accepted as a severe punishment (in the Great Britain they were supposed to be sentenced to death).

Crusoe provided them with all necessary to survive on the island. When they had all declared their willingness to stay, I then told them I would let them into the story of my living there, and put them into the way of making it easy to them. Accordingly, I gave them the whole history of the place, and of my coming to it; showed them my fortifications, the way I made my bread, planted my corn, cured my grapes; and, in a word, all that was necessary to make them easy. 8 The life of Crusoe on the island resembles some self built kingdom, a paradise without enemies where all the natures cataclysms do not affect the feeling that the man lives according to his own rules and morality. Maybe this dream of building a private kingdom, a self-made Utopia, and being completely self-sufficient 9 is the main objective of the novel. Perhaps this kingdom of justice was that kingdom Daniel Defoe had been looking for all fifty years before he wrote his brilliant novel.
