Family Involvement Plan Every child needs to be educated in order to grow up and become a healthy member of the society they live in. Usually, they start with Kindergarten and get all their way up to College. Different teachers teach children different subjects which are really important to each child and their later lives. But the most important teachers of all are the parents, mother and father.

Not only them, but the family in general are primary teachers to the child. According to Heather Bridge Parental involvement (most commonly mothers involvement) in preschool childrens learning is instrumental in childrens educational success (pg. 1). In other words, in order to get closer to a childs success, the parents need to participate. They all have the same needs and those are: The need to make sure that their child is in a safe environment. To ensure that the environment is learning friendly. The need to be sure of the highly educated teacher who is able to teach in an effective way. To have a skilled teacher who knows how to treat children and how to behave in different situation.

A teacher who can motivate the child to learn important material in different ways. Not only do parents need to communicate effectively with their child but as well need to communicate with teachers. Parents could see the differences of the child if there is an improvement or not. There are some questions that parents could ask themselves such as is the child improving? Are the learning skills improving such as mathematics? Or if parents are still not sure about it, they could talk to the teacher or other parents. But if they spend time with their child, they will for sure find out about their childs performance.

Post-workshop As a close up of this research paper, there are several things that need to be mentioned. First of all, the parent involvement plan did work out in many ways. It brought the parents and the child closer together. Parents should invest a great amount of their time in their childs education. There is one thing that needs to be worked on which is the performance of the teacher. Because of the high number of children in the class room, it is almost impossible to focus on all the children and their parents all the time.

To strengthen this weakness of the workshop, a minimum of two assistants is required. Most parents were quite satisfied with the family involvement plan. There were some who didnt participate at the workshop because they didnt show up. The once who showed up participated adequately. They could have participated more but other workshops are necessary to really get better results. What was learned in the workshop This research clearly showed that there is a need for parents and teachers to work together to achieve maximum potential in a childs education.

Both, the teacher as well as the parent need to take time together and understand that the child needs both of them. The teacher is able to teach a child but a child also needs his / her parent to be there at any time possible. The workshop overall was structured well but it was foreseen that problems with parents would occur. Parents did take it seriously, or at least some of them did. Some of them didnt show up which was disrespectful but there was nothing to do about it. Nobody can force the parents to show up.

The interaction between the present parents with their child was pretty intense which showed that there are still parents who care about their child and their education. This is always good to see.
