University: Lecturer: Course: Date: Vice presidential nomination Ladies and gentlemen, I can finally tell you whom Ive chosen to be my running mate in the forthcoming general elections. But before I do, I would like us to be on an equal footing on how I came to this decision. It wasnt an easy decision- that much I can assure you. Being a potential president has its downers, and one of them is that a lot is in the line for every decision I make.
One wrong decision, and not only will we lose this election, but we will disillusion literally millions of supporters out there. Simultaneously though, I do have some basic principles that I can not compromise, and I believe that they have contributed to our current success. I must also state that the ideal vice president is not just a person who can fill the presidents post should the president somehow be removed from power (Jrank, 2004). Being a potential president is of course one of the roles of a vice president, but it is amongst the least significant. Far more important than that role is the pacification of the multitude (Answers, N. D. ).
However popular I might be, we must all face the fact that certain factions of the country will never see issues from my point of view. In particular, due to my conservative approaches to issues, Im practically losing out on all liberals within the country. Id like my vice president to bring back these factions. With all this in mind, I have settled upon Bill Gates as my running mate.
Hes the perfect match, if youll hear me out. One of the reasons for this choice is precisely the fact that it will cause nationwide incredulity. On the international scene, it will cause ripples right up to the election date. I dont need to remind you how crucial it is to remain in the news right now. With Bill as my running mate, we are assured of prime spots in all headlines without paying a single dime. But even more significantly, this will be an astounding curve ball to the opposition.
They wont be expecting such a choice, and it will floor them completely. Now that the battle strategy is laid out, let me familiarize you all with some little known facts about Bill. We all know about his legendary wealth. What most people dont know is that he built up all that wealth right from scratch through sheer hard work and strategy. Its an incredible feat, but feasible, once you know Bill personally. He has an unrelenting drive that always sees projects through to the end.
But even more relevant in my scheme of things, he still has an agile mind, and can grasp new pieces of information faster than most people on average (Todd, 2008). I need a person who will assist me in the daily running of the country, and Bill fits the bill, so to say. Another reason for my choosing Bill is the bold message that I want to send everywhere. We are all moving towards a global village.
Due to this, radical changes are occurring in all spheres of our existence. I need someone who can exemplify the ideal in this match towards digitization. Bill Gates is suitable in this sense for all the obvious reasons, and also for the fact that he is used to handling diverse issues in his daily life at work. As the head of over 50, 000 employees, I feel that Bill can bring invaluable experience in management to the political landscape of America (Newsweek, 2008). Finally, may I inform you that after decades as the head of an international company, Bill Gates recently retired to concentrate more on philanthropy. It was but another statement by Bill that his wealth has not blinded him to the concerns of the less privileged in the society.
I propose that making him a vice president will give him an even better platform to work on his noble aspirations. It will also resonate with my long-term ambitions to have a country united against poverty and all sorts of unnecessary suffering.
