Sociology P 2 DB 3 (1) In order to come up with a valuable advice of how prison population in America can be reduced, we need to analyze reasons why it continues to grow rapidly in present time. What makes person to adopt anti-social behavior, which eventually causes him to end up in jail? The answer could not be simpler it is the fact that this person does not have any spiritual affiliation to the society where he lives. This what opens up such person to the idea of committing crime as the way of enriching himself or satisfying his anomalistic instincts. Why it is possible for the parents to leave a child in the public park in Kiev, Ukraine, for example, without the fear that this child might be kidnapped, while the idea of leaving small children in public places, without supervision, sounds suicidal to American parents? This is because Ukrainian society is racially homogeneous, which means that every citizen there is emotionally attached to other people around him, because he shares the same culture with them.
Causing harm to a child, for example, would constitute a transgression against the very foundations upon which Ukrainian society is based, therefore, child-abusers do not live longer then a few days, after being put in Ukrainian jail. In his article Diversity = Death, Luke Ofarrell says: Nations are like houses, and you can build them on either rock or sand. A nation built on rock is a nation made up of one race united by a shared history, culture, and genetic makeup (Ofarrell). This provides us with the insight on why the rates of crime continue to rise in America. This is because our government promotes the concept of multiculturalism, when people from Third World countries are being allowed to immigrate here, for the purpose of celebrating their diversity. Unfortunately, the celebration of diversity often involves committing crime, on their part.
It became customary for the lawyers, at trials that involve representatives of minorities, to suggest that the reason why defenders had committed horrendous crimes is that they were trying to preserve their ethnic identity. It is a fact that 80 % of American jail population consists of representatives of ethnic minorities. Therefore, it is logical to conclude that the most effective way of combating crime in this country is simply not allowing potential criminals to come here in the first place. If our politicians cared as much about the welfare of American citizens as they do about the prospects of being reelected for the second term, this thought would occur to them naturally. It is quite impossible to talk about reducing the crime rates in America, unless Federal government understands what serve as crimes initiative factors. (2) Thus, it appears that the first thing our government needs to do, in order to improve criminal situation, is reconsidering the principles of American current immigration policy. The celebration of diversity has already created a situation when it became very dangerous for ordinary citizens to enter certain parts of large American cities, after it gets dark.
Also, it appears that any proposed measures to reduce jail population in this country will remain ineffective, unless government reestablishes racial profiling, as the integral part of criminal investigation. It is logical to conclude that person who listens to gangsta rap, which glorifies violence, is more likely to commit crime than elderly White woman, who is only preoccupied with tending her garden and participating in Christian charities. In her article The Racial Profiling Myth Debunked, Heather Mac Donald is making a good point when she says: Until now, the anti-police crusade that travels under the banner of ending racial profiling has traded on ignorance. It has strained police-community relations and made it more difficult for the police to protect law-abiding citizens in inner-city neighborhoods (Mac Donald). It would be very beneficial for the hysterical promoters of left-wing agenda to spend some time in the hood, because it would help them to change their views to the great extent. If Federal government continues to remain socially ignorant, then it simply will not make any sense to even discuss the problem of America becoming criminalized country, because any attempt, on our part, to change the situation for better, will be considered as proof of our bigotry.
