Mind or Miracles It is assumed that we live in era of post-modernity, which implies that the role of religion in society becomes negligible. Nevertheless, various miracle workers are still able to earn a lot of money, while exploiting peoples naivety. Despite the fact that we live in 21 st century, 150 million Americans still believe in Genesis. It is well known that Christianity has turned into one of filthiest businesses long ago, along with drug trafficking or weapons trade. What make the proponents of good news especially despicable is the fact that they sell people false hopes. Many naive people donate millions of dollars to the Church, because they believe that somehow it would help them to deal with their diseases.
Church encourages them to place their hopes for recovering on God. Here is the classical example of Christian propaganda, which is directed at people who are not over burdened with intelligence. Why, if there is anything in supply and demand, life is the cheapest thing in the world. There is only so much water, so much earth, so much air; but the life that is demanding to be born is limitless (London, Chapter 6). Bible thumper's look at Jesus as someone who was able to perform miracle healings. However, if we analyze closely Jesus miracles, it will appear that 90 % of them consist of chasing away evil spirits. In another word, he was doing something that psychiatrists do on professional basis. The main Christian guru was very reluctant to perform miracles, because miracles are not possible in principle.
Jesus taught his disciples not to wash hands, not to work, not to marry, not to bury dead bodies, because according to him, kingdom of Heaven was at hand. This is about it. Therefore, those imbeciles who refer to Jesus as someone who encourages people to pray, while being sick, are simply incapable of accepting the truth. They believe in life after life, without realizing that such life can only consist of process of decomposing.
Numerous clowns like Benny Hinn are able to make fortunes on peoples stupidity. They especially like to prey on elderly women. We get to see a so-called miracle healings on Christian channels, but I personally do not see anything mysterious about them. Religion, in our days, is nothing but the way of making money, just as about anything else. 99 % of these healings are staged.
Those that really occur have a scientific explanation. It is very remarkable that Benny Hinn flew to one of the best clinics in Switzerland, when he suspected that he was having cancer. At the same time, this miracle worker never gets tired of telling his followers not to rely on conventional medicine, when it comes to dealing with disease. He tells them to place their hopes on God, while spending their money to take care of himself. What is very striking about it is that he is still able to find sheep that gladly open up their wallets for him.
To conclude this paper we need to say that even though that miracle healings do occur, they are not caused by the involvement of divine powers. Some people simply want to recover to such an extent that such recovery does take place. This points out to the fact that there is no need to look for God up in the sky. God sits quietly within ourselves and the only time he manifests itself is during the crisis. Numerous healers are nothing but parasites who exploit peoples lack of intelligence to enrich themselves. We think that selling drugs is highly immoral.
Why cannot we adopt the same attitude towards those who sell fake hopes? Christian ministers cannot heal people in principle, because, according to Jesus, earthly existence is nothing but a burden. Why bother? Bible thumper's keep repeating that they will be with Jesus in the Heaven, but it does not prevent them from hanging on to life, while using every mean possible.
Still, it appears that within next hundred years Christianity will completely lose its validity as religious concept. Then, it will be up to scientists to perform real miracle healings.
