Justice 1 Divine law or Civil Law: Which one would you follow? Every society everywhere in the world follows different laws, just like every country in the world. These laws might differ on how it is being implemented or might differ in forms, but it shares same goals and that is to protect and preserve peace and order in its respective states. It provides awareness to its people of their rights and serves as a guide for their acts that are acceptable and prohibited.

Also, it is a basis of whether a country needs development or growth. But as opposed to what we call Divine Laws or natural laws, which is based on both written and unwritten manuscripts, Civil Laws has become more powerful than the former. Choosing between the two is very hard for following what is legally right does not follow it is morally acceptable. Long before we formed Civil Laws, we have followed the Ten Commandments. Which is the very foundation of every law in the world. Aside from it, there indeed exist natural laws, that have not been written but we believe are morally acceptable to us.

And through ages, due to the complexities of life, we have formed laws that defined things that are not mentioned to the Divine Laws or natural laws. That, however had overpowered the latter and have eventually becoming unacceptable to what we believed are morally acceptable. Though sometimes it caused us confusion, we continue to follow such laws we formed in order for us to fit in the society. But have we really formed such laws to be just and effective. Taking the story Of Mice and Men as an example, wherein a man killed his friend to save the latter from the judgment of civil laws. From such situation, opposing laws might agree that such act is morally wrong.

On the contrary, the mans purpose was just to save his friend by killing him, and the act might have been agreed between them since they knew each other more than the society knows them. He acted based on what was best for his friend which is a natural law or instinct. The act might be wrong for many of us but for that man he will stand firm on what he thought was just right. In the story, taking the case of Candy, and Lennie, and the dominant Curly, where natural law will condemn the act of treating people as if they are animal. It has never been written in the Civil Law no to make people suffer just because you have power. Only natural laws have it Therefore, there should be a continuing definition on the laws that we make.

There are many acts that might violate our laws, may it be the Divine Laws or the Civil Laws. The most important thing maybe is to study appropriate laws on varying situations of actions that violate our laws. The laws should govern not only actions but also the emotions and beliefs of the followers of the laws. We may have many laws; we must also remember that there are exceptions to rules. Especially when a law is not according to Gods will.
