Skyscrapers Introduction In our modern times the construction of towering sky touching building and bridges that defy our imaginations have become the engineering feats of human beings that define our present day landscapes, culture have a direct impact in the quality of life that we live. The Petronas Towers in Malaysia and the Jon Hancock Tower in the United States are two such skyscrapers that reach the skies but are different in many ways. Background In this background paragraphs, we shall briefly provide information about the Petronas Towers and the John Hancock Towers, which shall in a self-explanatory manner allow us to make comparisons of these two mega-structures. Petronas Tower are twin skyscrapers that were constructed in 1997 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and are amongst the worlds tallest twin towers standing at a height of 452 meters, and surpass the height of the Sears Towers. The Petronas Towers houses the Malaysian governments state-owned oil company Petronas as well as various other national and international companies and marks Malaysia's construction and economic boom that began in the 1990 s.
The towers are built of steel-reinforced concrete columns that are clad in steel and glass and have a design that is geometrically patterned and based on Islamic architectural art form.
