Introduction to Diversity in Criminal Justice In todays world diversity in general is definitely on the increase and especially when this diversity starts extending itself into the criminal justice system, it starts affecting and blowing out the criminal justice system out of proportion. In the struggle to attain authority and power diversity is exploited within the criminal justice system, lines are drawn up amongst the groups within and corruption leading to injustice finds a home based on identification through ethnicity, religions, cultures and even sex. With the setting up of this diversification within the system, it is justice that falls prey and is hampered or creases to operate within the required standards. Awareness about majorities and minorities amongst human beings are increasingly being highlighted and brought to the fore, and differences encouraged to extract maximum advantage and power for the majority.
The original noble intentions with which the justice system was built for are being trampled upon with impunity. With the seeping in of corruption and the cohesion with the very anti-forces that the justice department stands for to protect citizens, it unfortunately seems to be in a uncontrolled spiralling fall towards anarchy. Tolerance, acceptance and the human innocence are gradually being strangled, and a sense of insecurity is being imposed on people. By nature humans are socially affable and accept each other as they are, but negativity, suspicion and mistrust through the various new rules and regulations on one pretext or another are creating unnecessary diversities. These diversities are promoted and justified as reasons for the good of society and yet they are tearing apart the very god given and constitutionally assured concepts and rights of the people. These would be a way forward for regaining self-esteem and self-respect within human beings but perhaps this would be the easy part, the real challenge would be have the courage to not allow the rampant wrong doings going on. A way has to be found to stop the injustices due to the diversity in the criminal law system at whatever the moral and legal cost. Good leaderships are what steers destinies of people and nations to their required correct heights and everyone has a direct or indirect stake into how our world moves forwards, and how it influences the criminal justice systems affecting us personally, nationally and internationally. The running of known and unknown private jails in violation of all legal laws by nations on the pretext of perceived terrorism and other factors based on the judgements of rulers. The legally and morally wrong prosecution of citizens and neighbours by the majority or the powerful in African countries like Rwanda, Sudan, Congo, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast etc. and in the Middle East where the Israeli atrocities are more than half a century old, yet they have to waken the conscious of the free world. In Asia, in Europe and in the Americas injustices and atrocities are impudently used as tools to further hidden and mentally pervert policies and ideas.
