Motivation and Anxiety 1. Motivation has always been considered as very important element of learning process. Practice show that only motivated students become academically successful. Nevertheless, motivation alone is often not enough. Many students are motivated to excel in studies, but they are simply unable to do so, because of their limited mental capability.
When this happens, such students direct their motivation inward, which is commonly referred to as negative motivation. From this time on, their motivation become to show others that, even though they have failed to excel in academia, they will nevertheless excel in something, such as in making inappropriate public statements or in socially dangerous behavior.
