Violence in Video Games: Adults Only! Nowadays, the media is full of messages of teenagers who committed serious crimes, such as murders, provoked by films and video games. Even despite that there still are many parents who do not object their children playing violent games and watching violent movies. One of the arguments people use to defend violence in video games is that those games do not influence young people in any negative way. Many people are sure that teenagers are aware of fact that television and video games are only a fiction.
The above judgments are erroneous, however and modern medical science proves that. More than 1, 000 researches have been conducted by the leading institutions and professionals in psychiatry. The conclusion has been made that there is a strong cause-and-effect relation between violence in video games and aggressive behavior of a certain group of children exists. According to medical researches, elements of violence in computer games can lead to development of aggressive feelings, reactions and behaviors in children because they provide a forum for learning and practicing aggressive solutions to conflict situations. Parents should be more careful about what their children watch and which games they play. Parents should not control their teenagers, rather they should explain that messages they are getting from violent films and video games are wrong and that killing and fighting people is not good. It might be better and healthier to direct a child to doing sports activities instead of sitting in front of television or computer.
