Basic moves are pretty simple moves, most which are used just before a breaker hits the ground. Some basic moves include the rock, topback, 6 -step (also known as the down rock), swipes freezes, and the backspin. The rock is probably one of the first breaking moves ever created, it being derived from James Browns Good Foot. The rock can best be described as a form of fighting; this move is almost always performed by two or more people. The main idea of this move is to just show ones own style of dancing. The topback is the main dance move a b-boy will use just before they hit the ground.

There is a basic way to do this, but most dancers create their own style. The basic way to perform the topback is step 1: hop forward onto ones right toe. Step 2: skip back onto the left foot. Step 3: the right foot goes behind the body and to the left, a body may turn with it. Step 4: the left foot skips back again and into the starting position. The 6 -step is the move first performed as a dancer hits the ground.

This move starts out in a push up like position except legs are apart about two feet or so. First lift the right hand and move the left leg where the right hand was. Then pull the right leg forward so that the knees are close together, keep the left leg where it is. Third pull the left leg in, the right one stays there. Next swing the right leg in a wide arc, switch hands, now the right hand is down. The right leg keeps swinging.

Then the right leg swings and wraps around the left leg, the face should now be down and both hands should be on the floor. Extend the left leg first, then the right. Finally the body is back in the starting position. Swipes are an awesome move to watch, but they are a bit confusing. First start out in a bridge position. Second lift the left hand up and kick into the air with the left foot.

That should bring one into the air; do the same with the right side. Finally land with the left hand and leg followed by the right hand and leg. Freezes are very simple, when there is a pause in the music, a dancer can go into one of a number of positions and hold it until the music starts up again. A backspin is exactly what it sounds like, spinning on ones back. First sit on the floor with he left leg bent and the right leg at a ninety degree angle, support the body with the left hand. Now bring the right leg around in a wide circular motion and at the same time move from a sitting position and roll into a ball with the balance on the top of the back.

Then pull the legs in quickly keeping the body in a tight ball. The less of the back that is on the floor, the longer the spin will be. Finally end with popping out and moving to the feet without the use of the hands. (web) There are numerous other break dancing moves that each different b-boy performs a little differently depending on how they feel at the moment. Break dancing is a great way to express they way a person is feeling.

Some people dance to get their anger out, some use it as a way to make themselves feel better when they are sad. Others dance when they are extremely happy, but most use it as a way to express any feelings they might have, not just one. Afrika Bambaataa was right when he said dancing was a form of expression. The future of break dancing could go anywhere. New crews will be formed, and the new crews will create new moves. The Rock Steady Crew will always be around, but who knows who the new members may be or what style they will be.

The break dancing culture has changed over the years, from old-school breaking to new-school breaking, but the way of dress really hasnt changed much. Breakers still wear ADIDAS and Puma. Old-school Puma shoes are very good to wear for breaking because they have grip on the toe and on the heel. Parachute pants are now popular for breakers to wear. Some breakers prefer to wear a helmet when they do a headpin, but this doesnt look as good and is easier to do because a helmet is smoother than a head. A lot of break dancers like to wear beanies.

The future seems to hold a lot for break dancing. This style of dance is getting more and more popular thanks to the influence of The Rock Steady Crew and other various local crews across the world. Also, the important segment of the hip-hop industry is cloth producers such as Daymond, for example. Daymond with his sense of style and active awareness of the simplicity of other products brought a number of qualities and resources, to act as a start up of a new business firm, since he has grow up in a hip-hop rap style culture he has already seen the different styles and quality's in the way hip-hop stylist have presented themselves.

Having this awareness most likely made it easier to put together a sportsman-black cultural look into a line of clothing that had a lot of popularity advantages. With the rap style trends rapidly extending above and beyond urban areas, the whole idea of producing a new clothing line was not far off. One set back is the inability to produce large amounts. That's where Daymond's available resources played a critical role.

It was his ability to sell the idea to his peers, or his peers acting as good friends that made production a possibility, which led him to the opportunity to present his product to another great resource; LL COOL J himself is a model spokesman for this particular type of active wear. In turn this made the product available to be seen by millions of young, star struck, turn of the century generation X-ers, who hold a vast amount of inspiration to stay within the newest and coolest styles that the late 90 's and beyond have to offer. By now Daymond had passed the popularity contest, but he still needed top of the line stores to sign contracts with. With that in mind, he also needed to have a production line, to assemble clothing and fill in orders.

Once he signed contracts to high fascist stores that agreed to carry and sell his product, his company had the chance to grow. In fact, they grew so much that almost every major department store owner across the country has carried the FUBU clothing line.
