Every Muslim should pray five times a day: at dawn, noon, afternoon, evening, and night. He needs to pray facing Mecca. On Friday at noon, Muslims go to a Muslim temple to pray. Most Muslim marriages are prearranged, so why would parents want their son to have more than one wife? Marriage served as a legal contract; the ceremony itself involves the signing of the contract. With this contract, the bride receives a "bride price" from the groom, which will become her personal wealth and enhance her self-worth in case of death or divorce. A Muslim woman is never left penniless. I was very surprised to read that divorce is legal for Muslims, and that it is legally easier for the husband to divorce his wife.
The husband may disown his wife, even when her conduct is faultless, without having to give any reason. However, the prophet Muhammad believed that divorce was the most distasteful of all things allowed by God.
