The main characters of this book are Dr. Karen Ross, supervisor of Earth Resources Technology Services, Dr. Peter Elliot, a zoologist who trained a gorilla named Amy how to speak using sign language.
Another main character is Charles Munro, whom leads the troop through the Congo. This book recounts the thirteen days of the last expedition to the Congo. The book is about a group of people who went to the African Congo to find a type of diamond, which was called by the name of IIB blue diamonds. However they had no idea of what they would have to face to get to them. On their adventure they came across a lost city by the name of Zip which was said to be a mysterious and alluring place. and a new type of killer gorillas, which they would have to overcome if they wanted to live.
I liked this book because it was a dangerous mission that they had to face. It has its adventures that really make you get into the book. The author uses vivid details making one feel as if you were there. Something that I disliked about this book was how unrealistic it was. There was no possible way that this could really happen. In conclusion "Congo" is a book that has it's good side and it's bad side.
I liked it because it kept me in suspense and it holds a lot of adventure. On the other hand I didn't like it because of how unrealistic it was and there is no way that all that happened to them could really happen.
