The sacrifices and hardships involved in training to be a doctor are worth the eventual outcome. Becoming a doctor starts with sacrifices in childhood and adolescence. When a young child decides to be a doctor, he or she enrolls in math and science classes. A large amount of homework is given, leaving little time for sports or video games. Despite the work, there is great pride in doing well in these classes and knowing that a goal is getting closer. Other sacrifices in becoming a doctor occur within the family.
