Where are you on a typical Sunday morning at 10: 00 a. m. ? In the bed, on the lake, at the golf course? Maybe just sitting at home?

Or are you in God's house? I was born on May 12 th 1984 and I have been to church every Sunday since then. I go to church because I wish to go. Church is the best place to go. People think church is a waste of time, but personally I believe that if it wasn't for God some of us wouldn't still be here. Like when Gary wrecked his truck, he could have easily lost his life, but with God's help he made it through.

God can do anything as long as you believe and have faith that everything will be all right. While we are all still living at home and don't have that much stuff to worry about, we sometimes depend on mom and dad, or even our grandparents. I have found from reading the bible and listening to many lessons and sermons, that God will be there for me even when mom and dad are gone. I won't always be a teenager still living with them.

We all are dependent on someone, and want someone in our life that we can always call on. Friends may let you down, their phone line can be busy, but God is always there and his line is never busy. I have been told of all the miracles that God has preformed and I believe them all. God has healed the sick, raised people from the dead, and caused the blind to see. He has stopped storms, calmed the water, made the water into wine, and even fed 5, 000 people with 2 fish and 3 loaves of bread. You see, with God all of these things are possible.

What do these have to do with us today? I have two friends who both have had miracles in their lives. My friend, Pam, was diagnosed with leukemia about 9 years ago. She went to the Cleveland Clinic for treatment and stayed for months, leaving her children, her home, and friends.

Pam was thought to be in remission, and then the disease came back. This time, when she went to Cleveland, she had to have a bone marrow transplant from her brother, Scott. After this transplant, she has been healed completely. Now you might be thinking, it was the transplant that healed her. I, on the other hand, believe that it was a miracle of God.

I also know a lady who had breast cancer. What could be a worse disease to a woman, than losing both breasts to cancer? Imagine this, that the day you are to go to Cleveland yourself for treatment of breast cancer, you had to bury your mom on that very same day for dying of breast cancer. Wouldn't you feel like you didn't even stand a chance for survival?

But Jane's faith held on. Jane was prayed for at our church when she left and, yes she had the surgery, but there is no evidence of cancer in her body. The doctors say it is a miracle! I believe it too. These miracles let me know that when I need a miracle, there is one waiting for me, too. I guess the thing about church that I love the most, is the love I feel there.

When you are worried about something, you can pray and ask God to help you. You also can pray with friends and family. You even will want to pray for people you don't really care that much about, because when you are a Christian, you will love them in spite of what they are or what they do. At church, you can always find someone who you would want to be like when you grow up.

There is a very special lady at my church who sings, is married and has two children, Alexis and Zachary. She is a great mom. She disciplines her children with love, and you can tell that even at there tender ages, they not only love her, but they respect her. She came to church for a while without her husband, but slowly he began to come with her.

She kept praying for him, and now her home is a Christian home and they look so happy. My friends name is Susan. Susan is always saying encouraging things to me, she sends me cards, and gives me a little hug just when I need it. She always has the sweetest smile. Also, Susan wouldn't hesitate to tell me, don't look at me, "always keep your eyes on Jesus. " Other than Susan, there are many other people I look up to.

For example, Coach Boyd. Coach Boyd sings with my parents and by himself. I have watched Wally through the years, ever since I was a little girl. I watched him coach Oak Hill's Baseball team, Senior League Baseball and Little League Teams, and of course, those Mustangs!

He is competitive, but always has a witness for Christ. He stands tall above many, praying after each football game. He cares about the team, but he loves his God more. He is faithful to church and is a great husband to Barbara, and a wonderful Dad to Matt and Drew. He doesn't gossip, doesn't lie and is never two faced. You can trust what he says all the time.

One thing about him, he is "Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ." You know, I don't go to church so I can go to heaven, or not go to hell, even though those are two great reasons to get saved and attend God's house. Because you see, I know in my heart that if there were no heaven, or hell, I would want to live the kind of life I live. You know me, no drugs, no cigarettes, no alcohol, & no sex. I would want to live a life that makes me proud of who I am.

I want to make those who love me proud of me. When mom and dad look at me and say, "I'm proud of you Miranda, " that's all I need to get me through many days. God wants us to come to his house to praise him. He wants us to "assemble ourselves together. " If we don't He will call on the rocks and mountains to praise him, at least that's what the bible says. If we don't spread the gospel and invite others to church with us, then we haven't done our job. As most of you know, my brother Patrick is in the USAF.

Right now, as I have told you before, he is in the Middle East looking for Osama! It makes me happy to know that I can lie in my bed at night, and ask God to watch over him. You see we both used to be at home, laughing, fighting, playing, and getting into trouble. I miss those days, but know in my heart that if something happens and he never comes home, I will see him in heaven. And that, my friends, is enough to make me want to live a life that God is pleased with. It's the least I can do for a Man who gave His life for me.

Now you make the decision!
