This speech is addressed to the whole nation, and as well as the whole world. The speech starts at 7: 00 a. m. on a Monday morning. The President (Mr. Bush) of the United States of America is sitting behind his desk on the oval office of the white house.
President Bush is wearing a dark black suit, with a white collared shirt, and a blue tie. This broadcast has been the biggest news in some time and is long awaited by the American public. It will interrupt all major television programs as well as all major radios stations at exactly 7: 00 a. m. Fellow Americans, we will not support the acts of terrorism that go in our country as well as any other part of the world. It brings me great sorrow that I come forth with the news that can change the entire world, as we know it today.
The militant group Al-Aqsa is holding the entire Israeli congress hostage. Since Israel has become a capitol for those of the Jewish religion there has been many holy wars as well as many deaths. As the President of the United States I will not sit back and watch innocent people being killed, and entire governments being held hostage, and taken over by terrorists. The significance of this issue is very important with time being the biggest factor; we as a country have all the necessary resources available to bring terrorism to an end. We will not lose this war on terrorism.
The American public must understand the importance of these events. Terrorism is a great threat to the world. Israels form of government has come under attack from a militant group called AL-Aqsa, and is being held hostage in their own country. This is a great threat to the Israelis and we, as Americans should do all that is necessary to help them.
After the events that occurred on September 11 th, 2001, the United States does not stand for terrorism. (Barr) Israel is a country that has people of the Jewish religion, who have been under attack so many times in the past, and have been through more then most can imagine. With this the American people should agree of the importance, and how if we sit back and watch, it can lead to other complicated matters, and can get out of control. The militant group gave up some demands for the Israelis and they demand that Israel is to immediately grant an independent Palestinian state, which would include the West Bank, Gaza, and the city of Jerusalem. (packet) These demands were given directly to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, as soon as the hostages were taken over by heavily armed militants. With only 20 hours and counting there is a strong military force immediately deployed into Israel as I speak.
With this the militant group will see how America stands on terrorism and what we are able to bring to this war to end terrorism. There are questions and maybe even some hesitations in all of your minds on weather or not the United States is capable of this. Without a doubt, American soldiers will go into Israel, and we will defend the Israeli people. We have all the necessary resources available to take down the Al-Aqsa. For the past 14 months these militants have caused violence and tried to make there points clear, and they still are unsuccessful.
One question is, does Yasser Arafat have enough political strength to stop all of this? The answer is clearly and simply no. Yasser merely has been playing off of American sympathy and no longer will we let him continue in doing this. The most important concern involving this ordeal is that of the hostages stay safe. There is believed to be well over 200 politicians in the building, and the building is heavily secured, with armed men. Another concern for the American population would be They could cut off the oil that come to America the U.
S. already tight oil production. An this could result in higher gas prices and such. There are a lot of foreign countries that could also be affected by the acts of terrorism. The reason being that the militant groups could also take over other parts of the Middle East to try to get their point across. But these countries should not panic, there will be a heavy U.
S. military presence in the Middle East. Through all of the past events that have gone in Israel we feel that the actions of the U. S. going into Israel would be the best way to come to a peaceful resolution. There has been many acts of terrorism that have gone on throughout our world, and no longer will the U.
S. watch it go on. During the holy wars that have gone on in Israel the U. S. has supported them to a certain point with the most support happening in 1967 during the 16 day war of Yom Kippur. The U.
S. supplied the Israelis with weapons and much needed ammunition, with a final assault of 10 f- 4 phantom jets. (Rotella) I ask the American population to agree with me on these decisions, and not let countries be scared of these terrorists that want to cause total mayhem throughout the world. As a strong country we as Americans should not stand down and let this war continue. We should take all necessary actions to stop this war. There have been events that have occurred in the past that never should have occurred, and due to the violence that Israel has endured over the past 50 years, we should support them, and not let there Parliament be taken over by terrorist militant groups. This is war that is not just for one country, it is a war that involves everyone, and it will not continue.
