... nd make it a better place for all of us to live by giving us the opportunity to own our own vehicle. Many would have thought that buying a car would have cost them a fortune, but Ford made it possible so that everyone could live happy and still be able to feed their families (Jarold 1). In addition to Henry Fords goal of making an affordable car for every middle class working American, Henry Ford was also a highly known philanthropist (Jarold 1).

He wanted even the poorest people to have a car so he started establishing small village factories so that production could continue in small towns and create good jobs for people who needed money (Willamette 4). Ford initiated many philanthropic organizations, but his most famous was The Ford Foundation (Jarold 1). The Ford Foundations goal was not to just give people loans and hand out money, but instead they wanted them to take it and get everything that they could out of it (Jarold). They wanted to make sure that they were using it to change their lives (Jarold). The Ford Foundation had four goals: to strengthen democratic values, to reduce poverty and injustice, to promote international cooperation, and advance human achievement (Iacocca 2). All these goals were set up by Henry Ford and his son, and the foundation was up and running in 1936 (Caldwell 179).

The Ford foundation started in the state of Michigan, but by 1950 it became a national and international foundation (Willamette 4). The foundation still provides many grants for charitable causes such as scholarships, aiding charities to fight poverty, and providing for many more charities around the world (Jarold 3). Ford also set up his own hospital, which to this day has grown into a network of hospitals (Willamette 4). Ford started this in 1914 to 1926 and spent over 11 million dollars of his own money to fund this hospital (Lacey 93). Ford also took a lot of environmental responsibility in making his cars and decided to use steel instead of wood to preserve forests (Iacocca 6).

He set many other rules in his factories to avoid wasting wood and lumber. He thought that everyone should live in a healthy environment (Willamette 4). In conclusion, was the way Ford lived his life a good example of how the Bible teaches? Ford believed that everyone should be able to afford a car, and later he even tried to make it possible for lower class citizens to be able to afford a car. By doing this one can say that Ford was a kind giving man, to those who are in need. Proverbs 14: 21 says, Blessed is he who is kind to the needy.

Verse 31 says, He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Henry Ford was very kind to the needy because he was willing to do whatever it took to make them be able to afford a car. Therefore, Henry Ford honored God. Henry Ford was loyal to his country, even though during the First World War he was a pacifist. During the Second World War, Ford let his stubborn ways go and helped his country. The United States has authority over all of its citizens.

Henry Ford was a citizen of the United States and the United States has authority over Henry Ford. Hebrews 13: 17 says, Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you (Ryrie). This verse commands for us to obey those who are in authority over us. Henry Ford obeyed his country and therefore did what the Bible commands.

Henry Ford also set up The Henry Ford Foundation, a foundation whose money is given to charities in order to benefit peoples lives. 2 Corinthians 9: 7 says, Each man should give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (Ryrie). This verse tells us that God loves a cheerful giver. Henry Ford sat down on his own time to plan out a whole foundation to give his money that he had to charity. Not only did Ford give cheerfully, but he also gave caring. He gave what he could and cared so much for these people that he wanted these peoples lives to change. His main goal in life was to make it possible for everyone to afford a car, he was a loyal citizen, and a popular philanthropist.

Henry Ford was a hardworking man who undoubtedly changed everyones lifestyle worldwide. He had good motives and good principles that led us to believe he based his life in a biblical worldview. His main goal in life was to make it possible for everyone to afford a car; he was a loyal citizen, and a popular philanthropist. The Bible teaches all of Henry Fords beliefs, such as Philanthropy the Bible teaches of peace. Ford had the motive of compassion behind his belief that everyone should be able to afford a car. The Bible also speaks about having compassion for others He also cared for all the people around him, and because of this he has shown one of the Ten Commandments in the Bible, which is Love thy neighbor as thyself.
