Would you ever think that the late Saturday Night Live comedian, Chris Farley would have anything in common with Hamlet? One of Farley's characters in the movie, "Tommy Boy, " is similar in many ways to Hamlet, in William Shakespeare's play, "Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. " Farley's character in "Tommy Boy", Tommy Callahan, and Hamlet are similar in ways such as, their relatives take over the positions of their fathers' after the deaths of their fathers, must fight to get position back, and they are betrayed by their family. First, Tommy Callahan and Hamlet had fathers that passed away. In Tommy Boy, Tom Callahan, Sr. had a heart attack while dancing with his son, during his own wedding. Then, his newly widowed wife took over the company with her son.
