Our Society today is defined as an interdependent organisation in a stable community. Civility in our society is factored into law and order. Law of persons are further factored into subjective law and the rights and duties of society. We distinguish between two classes of legal persons; human beings and juristic persons entitling beings upon the law. Society functions on value and morality systems. Value systems in a legal persons capacity of society is marriage, wealth, status, work.

Our value systems indicate our worth in society. Our morality is our basic right and wrong. Our morals are practiced everyday whether at home or at work. You may not be aware of it at the time but around you evaluations of your character and personality are made. Ethics are furthered factored from morality into our conscience and discretion of doing what you think is right.

One should always ask oneself whether what they are doing could be performed in public. If you can answer this than you are edifice in practicing right over wrong. In relation to Sir William Golding's novel; Lord Of The Flies, his message relayed is without enforced control ie. Society, chaos is chosen over order. He saw brutality shown to each other when society doesnt function together coherent as a unit. The conch found on the island was their (the boys) symbol of conformity.

When deciding the rules, it was evident that the conch was respected and treasured for its valuable rarity. He who held the conch had the right to speak. Jack Meridew saw no meaning in the conch in other words was the defect in Society's thinking. He had aggressive tendencies, which resulted in a sort of devil manifesto creation. Ill get it next time when he stabbed the tree shows that he was determined to kill and adamant on killing the wild boar.

He would have no regrets in his actions for the manifesto of savagery in primitive practices had made him complacent in his determination. When the conch was destroyed, total pandemonium had broken loose. Ralph solely had the foresight to try to keep conformity without the aid of Piggy and his sagacity of situations. But because of a defective society savagery turned on him and he was on the run trying to survive. Roger stood standing with a spear sharpened at both ends sustains a point that society had reciprocated from good to evil where that spear was meant for Ralph's head as they did with the gutting with the pigs head.

Society had now no concept of right over wrong and was only practicing what their leader had preached to them; to hunt down and kill. Roger in the book is viewed as the minion of Jack where Jack can be contrasted to likeness of the devil. Absolute power tends to madden. In the behaviour and rationality of Jack and his savage group, it has maddened him absolutely. Civilisation on the island was a veneer to mask the inborn evil of the boys ie. Mankind.

Evil is instilled in us from the day we are born. Your up-bringing in your environment ie. Society determines your position in the hierarchy of life. Human beings are capable of great evil.

Society in the Lord Of The Flies was classified into two groups. The Doers and the Thinkers. The doers were the hunters and the thinkers were the gatherers. The boys are freed from authority and control; they lose moral purpose and develop primitive ways. Ralph only discovers the inborn evil when controlled by he naval officer. A true society in which morality can be practiced openly without judgement and criticism must have coherent, stable, viable, and sustainable basis and ethics.

Society without basic principals will lapse into anarchy, as so did the painted savages epitomizing their sub human practices. In concluding Society is only as strong as its weakest link. If Society has what can be regarded as a defect, the weak link It cannot pull together and be coherent in its purpose. The weak link breaks away and forms an environment of chaos.
