In America suicide is legal, but it is very rare to find help for an assisted suicide. Euthanasia is killing someone without having them feel pain. Many people believe that euthanasia should be legalized. views on assisted death are varied from different people. Finally, there are pros and cons to euthanasia. The laws on assisted suicide states, it is illegal. However, in the late nineteenth century, proposals to legalize euthanasia start to rise. Debates on the voluntary killing of the terminally ill patients became a main discussion point in many countries. In 1906, a bill was brought up in the Ohio legislature which caused an uproar of controversy.
Those against believed people would abuse this right to do away with any physically demanding relatives, or that doctors would use this it to cover up for any malpractice. Although there are laws against it, euthanasia does have its positives and negatives. For instance if a woman becomes pregnant, and knows that she would not be able provide adequate care for her baby could end its life without having to endure the hardships of a poor or abusive life. Another instance, if a patient who is in critical condition and is suffering, wants a assisted suicide, a physician could stop the patients suffering. All of these examples do have positive effects, but the easy way out is always the best. Euthanasia will lead to a world that takes the easy way out.
The death count of those with assisted suicide or abortion have exceeded the population of Canada. This nation could benefit so much more by ending assisted suicide. The doctors could work on medicine to help the incurable patients, or even find a cure. Euthanasia is considered mercy killing. Actually it is a easy way to stupid teenage girls, or to families that have a relative they have to pay the medical bills for. Unless the person is willing to die and in great pain, or is in a vegetative state but previously granted to be put to death if in this state, should be allowed the right to euthanasia.
