Since the First World War passed with its greatest influence on the movement and the greedy of power, the world started to develop their plans and methods in wars. World War II saw the biggest evolution of technology, especially weapons, which still dominate the world. This technology changed the feature of the war from fighting skills to development and industrial skills. It was the war of science where the competition was open for every scientist to join and help his nation. It was the first war that came up with something other than dead bodies and damages; it came up with the basic machines that we still use it nowadays.
This technology growth caused a lot of damages on the world as short cause; however in a long term effect it came up with new inventions that changed the world to be a better place. The war of technology started when the United States started to be focused on the development of weapons. In September 1940, The United States started to bring scientist to develop the army until U. S. reached the highest level of technical efficiency. The development of the radar and the jet engine were from the most first new inventions in World War II.
The assault rifles were the basic weapon of all U. S. marines. In the other side, Allied tried hard to stop the German from developing their tanks and anti-tanks, since Germany reached a highly technologies engines to run the tanks such as Pz Kw V Panther tank. The spirit of development didnt stop at the tanks only, but also it reached the weapons at sea such as the VII U-boat.
The submarines also played an important role in the communication of overseas armies. In June 1944, U. S. uncovered her secret weapon that had been kept in the dark for so long, which was the Atomic bomb that used against Japan in August 1945. The idea of this bomb was releasing a huge amount of energy from splitting the atom which was invited by Albert Einstein. This bomb broke all the records of damaging and destroying by terminating a complete city and killing over 120, 000 people.
The huge development in technology changed the feature of the world politics. The balance of power had been changed. It is not now about fighting skills, it is about knowledge and technology. The more the country has technology, the more powerful it is.
If the United States did not have the brainpower of scientists, or universes like Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that played important role in the researches, the U. S. would not be strong enough to make an atomic bomb that made the people fear. It was total war, and everything was for the researches to develop weapons and science.
The world realized how powerful the science can be after they saw the effect of atomic bomb on only one city. This technology took the meaning of war into highest level that no one now can image how danger it is. The war isnt machines guns or tanks; there are more powerful bombs that can terminate countries in few seconds. The technology did not only touch the political world only, but it affected many things in our life. The development wasnt only for weapons; it touched also the normal life of the people. For example, from the major inventions in World War II was the computer or the calculators that were used by the engineers.
In some how the evolution of technology had a horrific sides and good sides however; most of the world now lives in the good side. All the machines and inventions that we use today are based on what was invented in the World War II. The tanks opened the development of cars engines, and also the atomic bomb was the beginning of the nuclear power industry. The technology impacted the war and the war impacted the technology. If the idea of war is already there, so why do we blame the science for all of this damaging. Therefore the weapon technology made many damages however; I think that the evolution of technology changed the world to better a place.
The First World War didnt have much technology to improve than fighting techniques. During 1939 1945, the world saw many changes and how the power of a country changed from economy or fight power to a brainpower that was used by the scientist who developed all of the weapons and the machines that we still use today. Under this development the world became better and more connected by the technology. The technology helped in the war to make it a World War where every country had a role in this growth of technology.
