... to this topic is limited I am not a parent, although I do believe in God and was very involved with a Christian church I am not that religious at this time. This Abortion is one particular topic that is actually televised quite often; it is covered extensively throughout the news and media coverage. You can hear about it on talk radio just about any time of the day.

It is part of life in our country, they make sitcoms that show women getting, or thinking about getting abortions, there is always some protest harassing some clinic that we hear about on TV or see in a newspaper. There are many, many organization on both sides of the abortion issue, and it would take up too much room on the paper to name them all so I will just name a few. On the Pro-choice side, you have a national organization that call themselves the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League now known as NARAL Pro-Choice America. You have another federal funded group called National Abortion Federation better known as NAF. Another group that pledges their support is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

How about some religious support there is the California Catholics for Free Choice. There are numerous groups that fight for Pro-Choice. Now, just as there are many supporters for Pro-choice there are just as many supporters for the Pro-Life movement. On the Pro-Life side, you have supporters like the Pro-Life Action League who hope to save lives through direct action and nonviolence.

There is another organization called the National Rights to Life who has been fighting the pro-life fight since January 1973. Even another who call themselves the American Association of Pro Life Obstetricians and Gynecologist (AAPLOG) the list just keeps going and going. Although there are some very intelligent individuals that have come up with some very convincing arguments on both sides of the issue, neither one has convinced me to join their fight. I am not saying that I do not have an opinion on the issue, actually, it is quite the contrary I have very strong feelings towards one side of this debate, but my opinion is not relevant at this time. As far as my background goes, I am a twenty five year old male who has grown up in the city of Antioch for the majority of his life. I have never had to ask a girlfriend to get an abortion or need one myself.

My parents waited until they had been married for probably 3 to 4 years before I cam along. So therefore I know that it is possible to have sex with somebody whether you are married to them or not, and not produce a child. Although my parents didnt start bringing me to church until I was in the ninth grade I was raised knowing right from wrong and left from right. I know that if I did wrong I got in trouble and this was when spanking your child was allowed. Therefore, when I did wrong I got in trouble. I know stealing is wrong I know that murder is a sin and that you will go to Hell for it if you do not ask for forgiveness.

I know that growing up God has a plan for all his children and that the worst thing you could do would be to kill an innocent child. However, it is a fetus and not a child. God does not intend for us to die during childbirth, it is called the miracle of life, not death. I also know that God made us into intelligent being capable of learning and thought. Dont you think that if there was a procedure that could prevent the death of the mother or the child, then they should be allowed to have a procedure done to them that will prevent the complications from killing the mother or baby? That is how I can justify a late term abortion.

I believe that it would be one of the hardest decisions that a mother would have to make, but shouldnt she be able to make that decision. I believe that the decision should be discussed between the mother and the father a doctor should be involved in the decision to insure that all the possible outcomes a made clear to the parents to be. I just think that you are not killing a living being because a fetus is not alive, and I do not think that it is alive, until it can live and breathe on its own. I just cannot help to believe that it is fundamentally wrong to take way the rights of the mother and give them to a child that is not yet even developed enough to sustain life on its own. Women have been fighting for their rights for many years, and to allow somebody to take even one of those right away is unthinkable to me, and I am a guy what do you think women would say about this. I think that it is put best in a statement from Planned Parenthood Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making that choice for thousands of years, for many good reasons (parenthood).
