... walking out of the woods when a thick arm suddenly grabbed her around the neck. Ryanna gasped and struggled, but it was no use, the man was too strong. The man tightened his grip, closing off her windpipe.
Ryanna tried to lever the arm with her own, but she was not violent by nature and was not very strong. She kicked the man hard in the shins, but the vice like grip still would not budge. Ryanna was beginning to see stars from lack of oxygen. In her panic she blindly shot spells everywhere.
The grip became tighter still, and Ryanna's fragile body could not withstand the lack of air, she fainted. When she woke up she felt a pair of lips upon hers. She first reaction was to thrash out with her arms. She caught the stranger in the head and he backed off, obviously in pain.

On the third day of the eleventh week, battle commenced. The barbarians were ferocious and fearless fighters, but they did not have an army of magicians. Wave after wave of barbarians fell in a hail of spells, until battle ceased for the day. On the next day the barbarians proposed a challenge.

She held out her palm and there was a blinding flash. A beam of light shot from her hand and countered the fire. The monster roared, annoyed.
Ryanna now attacked, her long, golden hair stood on end as she performed the same spell her father used on the monster. A gust of wind swept up and a beam of energy shot from the heavens. The monster let out a howl of pain and fell. Ryanna continued the spell. The monsters howl became lower and lower until it stopped. This was Ryanna's chance, she gathered energy for one, final, finishing blow.
A tail swept out of nowhere and knocked her off her feet. She landed hard on her back and was immediately faced with the monsters foot. Her hands shot up, sending a wall of energy to stop her getting crushed. The pendant around Ryanna's neck suddenly glowed. It sent a massive beam of light at the monster. It was lifted into the air where it vaporized.
Ryanna shook her head, dazed. She gripped the pendant with her hand and silently prayed for her mother and father, then she walked back to a cheering crowd.
