Reactions to stress include impatience. Impatience leads to negative attitude, which lead to tension and anxiety. Your attitude towards the unwanted sound may also effect your level of stress. If you perceive the noise as unnecessary and preventable, your annoyance will increase, and with it the level of stress. Sound can not only cause stress, but can also relieve it.
