Throughout history many people have given messages. They were trying to make people consider the messages. They would say that they would do something with out actually backing it up, or they would say they are someone with out proof. Jesus had made many messages that said that he was the messiah, the son of god. The performance of miracles had strengthened Jesus message. Because Jesus had done miracles to back up his message, people actually believed he was the messiah, Son of God.

Many people believe Jesus actually performed miracles but some people believe he did not. In the book by Washington F. Jarvis (p 65) it defines miracle as an occurrence which we cannot explain in terms of our present knowledge and understanding of how things work in the world around us. Many people believe that Jesus did perform the miracles but few still believe they were phony. In the book by Washington F. Jarvis (p 65) it states that many dispute this portrait of Jesus; many deny the possibility of miracles and find the gospel miracle stories embarrassing fairy tales.

There were people who were not too confident that Jesus actually performed the miracles. Many people also thought that Jesus was a troublemaker, if in fact he was the messiah, the son of god. In the book by Washington F. Jarvis (p 66) it says that because Jesus broke the law by healing on the Sabbath, and because he attracted many adherents, he came to be regarded by the establishment as a dangerous trouble maker. Many people thought if he could heal people he should know when to do it or when not to do it.

They believed that he could perform miracles but that he was a trouble make or that he was working for the devil or something evil. Many people did think he could heal people. In the book by Washington F. Jarvis (p 65) it says that but the gospels portray Jesus as a miracle- worker and credit him with the power to heal sickness and to alter the natural order. Even though people could see that he could heal people, some still wanted to deny that he was a miracle worker. People knew that he was a miracle worker in the book by Washington F.

Jarvis (p 66) it says that when we read the gospels accounts, what strikes us the most is the fact that no one in Jesus time, friend or enemy, ever indicated the slightest doubt that Jesus did miracles. This quote proves that people saw that Jesus could do miracles. If people ever did see that he did miracles and that he was the messiah the son of god they knew it was from God. In the book by Washington F. Jarvis (p 66) it say that both those who rejected Jesus and those who accepted him saw the miracles not as a sign, an indication of who he was and what he was doing. Some people but not the majority saw that he had some good in him.

People thought that god or some heavenly spirit was working threw him. In the book in the book by Washington F. Jarvis (p 66 - 67) it say that except for the religious establishment, almost all who witnessed Jesus miracles saw them as a sign that the power and love of God were vividly present and at work in him (Jesus). People had believed that Jesus was a miracle worker because he could heal people from there illnesses, disabilities or from the evil spirits. Not a lot of people saw Jesus do miracles but some witnessed him do them then they would tell other people. Jesus would leave an impression or an impact on the people he did the miracles for or the people who witnessed him do it.

In the book by Roy J. Porter (p 158) it says that Jesus acts of healing and exorcism formed the major part of his activity and made the greatest impression upon those around him. This quote proves that he made an impact or he got through to people with his message that he was the messiah, the son of God. But still people would witness it and blame him for being evil. In the book by Washington F. Jarvis (p 66) it say that the scribes and Pharisees saw Jesus miracles as a sign that he was controlled by evil forces; the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying that he was possessed by Beelzebub, and that he drove out devils because he was in league with the prince of devils [Mk. 3: 22, Phillips].

Many people did not know what to think about Jesus Christ. Jesus did the miracles to all kinds of people. In the book by Roy J. Porter (p 158) it says that In first instance, Jesus healings were a response to individual suffering- the gospels speak of him being moved with pity in the presence of afflicted persons. This reflects his particular concern for social out casts, because those with physical disabilities, such as leapers, were often s by there fellow citizens. Jesus had many ways to cure a person.

The person could have an evil spirit, illness, disability, or any other abnormality. By curing a person it would be considered to be a miracle. In the book by Roy J. Porter (p 94) it says most accounts of Jesus cures include some sort of bodily contact, touching or laying of hands. Similarly, the gospels record that people were cured by the touching Jesus or even just his clothing, as with the woman with the hemorrhage. Jesus performed many miracles during his life time.

The miracles made people believe that he was the messiah, the son of God. In the book by E. P. Sanders (p 145) it says that in mark in which Jesus performs a physical action in addition to addressing and touching the person.

A deaf man who also had a speech impediment was brought to Jesus. He took him aside, put his fingers in to his ears, spat and touched his tongue. He looked up to the heaven and said ephphatha, be opened in Aramaic, and the man was cured (mark 7: 31 - 7). Jesus also performed another miracle with a blind man. In the book by E. P.

Sanders (p 145) it says in Bethsaida a blind man was brought to him. He took him outside the village, spat on his eyes, and laid his hands on him. The mans sight was partially restored: he could see people, but they looked like trees walking Jesus again put his hands over his eyes, and his sight was restored (mark 8: 22 - 6). In conclusion Jesus could perform miracles and the way he did them strengthened his message. The performance of miracles did strengthen his message because of the witnesses that had seen him. Even though there were many doubts about Jesus there were also people who knew he was working for God.
