On May 20, 325 AD the world was forever changed. Emperor Constantine called a meeting of the 318 Bishops at Nice and on that day they instituted one of the greatest flaws of American religion today. This is the doctrine of the Trinity, suggesting the view of the Oneness doctrine, believing on one God and His name being Jesus, is no longer correct. The Trinity doctrine cannot be proven by simply reading the scriptures; it has to be described and explained in detail, before you can begin to see the Trinitarian view. The Trinity doctrine is a doctrine of inference, not a doctrine of fact. If you ever listen or take part in a Oneness verses Trinity debate you will find that as long as they are quoting scriptures the Trinity looses ground.

Hence, the doctrine of the Trinity must be injected into the scriptures to prove itself. One man once said The Trinity has to be piped into Scripture before it can be piped out. The best example is: everyone knows you cant get milk from cotton. But, if you take the cotton and soak it in milk first then you can squeeze the milk from the cotton. In the same sense the Trinity doctrine is like this.

Before you can begin to see the Trinity doctrine, someone has to tell you about it and then go to scripture to prove it as fact. By just reading the scriptures first, no one will ever find the Trinity represented, for the scriptures prove the Oneness of Jesus Christ all through the Bible. I do not understand how the doctrine of the Trinity can get around the unity of the Old Testament and New Testament stating the One God facts. Deuteronomy 6: 4 (NKJV) states: Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: . That sums up the doctrine of the Oneness. But, one instance will not satisfy.

Here are just a few of the misconceptions of the Trinity Doctrine that cause it to be in fault: First: Elohim Elohim, meaning "God", is sometimes confused to show the plurality of the Godhead, this is not a correct interpretation. In the Hebrew words are plural in construction but singular in the way that they are used. Also the Hebrew often used plural forms to show majesty or greatness of one person or deity. Even though these are plural words, to say they represent a multiplicity in the Godhead would be wrong. Historically Hebrew people and there writings are monotheistic. When you are referring to God using Elohim, it is always used with a singular verb such as is and created which are found in Genesis 1: 1, but the scripture also uses Elohim in pagan references in the Bible, and in doing so it uses plural verbs with Elohim as well.

There are several cases of this singular usage in the OT that prove the singular ability of the word Elohim as opposed to the plural form being the only usage of the word. Judges 8: 33, 11: 24, 16: 23, I Kings 11: 5, II Kings 1: 2 - 3, 19: 37, Exodus 32: 1 - 31 are just a few of the references of the singular form of Elohim being used in the OT, proving just because the word Elohim is used to make reference to God that He is not a plural being. (Bernard) Matthew 28: 19 shows: Trinitarians traditionally believe this scripture shows evidence of three separate persons in the Godhead, but in reality teaches Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Spirit) are three titles or manifestations of God, identifying one name therefore one being. Throughout the Old Testament we see all types of manifestations of God's spirit. We can prove the Oneness of Matthew 28: 19 by breaking the scripture down into pieces. We know Jesus is the name of the Father: "but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him. " (John 10: 38) Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, 'Show us the Father?' Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?

The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. " (John 14: 9 - 14) "yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; " (I Cor 8: 4 - 6) We know Jesus is the name of the Son: "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins. "firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS. " (Matthew 1: 24 - 25) We know Jesus is the name of the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit: "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. " (John 14: 26) I John 5: 7 described: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. " (I John 5: 7) NKJV None other scripture has caused more discussion for the topic of Trinity. The main problem with this scripture is its validity as an original script from within the Word of God. I. It is missing in all the earlier Greek manuscripts, for it is found in NO Greek manuscript written before the 16 th century. II.

It is missing in the earliest versions, and, indeed, in a large part of the versions of the New Testament which have been made in all former times. It is wanting in both the Syriac versions-one of which was made probably in the first century; in the Coptic, Armenian, Slavonic, Ethiopic, and Arabic. III. It is never quoted by the Greek fathers in their controversies on the doctrine of the Trinity-a passage which would be so much in point, and which could not have failed to be quoted if it were genuine; and it is not referred to by the Latin fathers until the time of Vigilius, at the end of the 5 th century. IV. The argument against the passage from the external proof is confirmed by internal evidence, which makes it morally certain that it cannot be genuine.

V. The passage is now omitted in the best editions of the Greek Testament, and regarded as spurious by the ablest critics. (Barnes) Colossians 2: 8 - 10 "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. " (NKJV) In this scripture we are warned against false doctrine and doctrines that sound good but are mary men's teachings and inventions. Through more extensive study that has been done over the years, men have twisted and turned the Gospel of Jesus Christ to say just about whatever they wanted it to say.

As you can see, the Trinitarian doctrine is just another doctrine of men. The Bible speaks of having the knowledge but denying the power there of. This is what's going on here with the Trinity. Trinitarians have a wealth of knowledge but deny that Jesus is the Supreme Being, all power is given unto Him, and there is none other name where by we can and must be saved. -- Bernard, David K...
