Orison Scott Card wrote Enders game. Ender is a boy in the book who was taken away from his family at a young age to go and save the world. But at the same time he loses the love of his life. The year is 3002 and a highly intelligent race of bugs has attacked the Earth twice.
Nobody knows when they will attack again. So the people of the world have decided to be prepared and build an army. Ender is the main character in this book. When he was a baby he had a chip put into the back of his head by the government.
This chip told the government what Ender was doing, what he thought of, and what he had done. In addition to Ender having the chip, his older brother and sister, and other children Ender knew did too. However, the government removed the chips from his brother and sisters head. It starts off when Ender has to go to the nurse.
There, the chip is taken out of his head too. Ender thinks that he has not passed the governments test, just like most of the other kids. There is a bully in the school that has been battling Ender for a long time, but each time he would get close to Ender the government would come in and stop him. When this bully hears that Enders chip has been removed, he decides to go after Ender. After school that same day, the bully was waiting for Ender to come out of the school. When Ender finally did, the trouble began.
Ender pulled some good stunts and beat the bully. The government saw this and thought that they were wrong about Ender. The government had asked Ender that night if he would go with them. After Ender said good bye to his family and his only love, "his sister Vall", he left with the government. Ender was brought to a space ship. There they left for the space station.
On the station they teach kids to be war commanders to stop the bugs from over taking the Earth. In the past, the bugs had attacked the humans two different times to try to kill and destroy all humans. But the humans won both battles. The second one Earth had won because they had a great leader. On the ride there some kid sitting in behind Ender kept hitting him. Ender thought of it in his mine.
He began to start to get when the boy was going to hit him next. Ender got the time just right. The next time the boy hit Ender, Ender grabbed his arm and threw him forward. The boy had not set his seatbelt in right so he flew out of the seat and started to float around and bounce off things. The boy had broken his arm before the captains of the ship saved him. Ender was scared that he had bad side like that.
He started to think of his brother again. His brother had always tortured things. Even Ender and other kids. Ender got scared and wanted to go back home, but he knew that he couldn't.
When he got to the planet, he was put onto a team with other children he has never met before. He was afraid. The other children didnt treat Ender so nicely and even did everything they could to keep him away from them, including making him take the bunk right next to the door. At his bunk, Ender opened his locker so that he could get his uniform. When doing this he saw that no one else was able to open their lockers.
This made everyone hate Ender even more because now they could see how smart he was. At lunch nobody would sit with Ender. Ender felt very lonely. Then an older boy came and sat with him. After awhile he left. Ender felt lonely again.
When he was done with lunch he went back to his quarters. There he met up with the boy from the ship with the broken arm. The boy kept making fun of Ender. After a couple of days of this, Ender got even with the boy.
He found out of how to break into the teachers lounge and was able to get to the keyboard. He sent a message in the boys name that said "look out kids I am looking at you in a funny way." The boy was very upset. He wanted to find out who did it. He told the teacher that it wasnt him but the teacher said it had to be him and that no other child could go onto the keyboard under his name.
After a couple of days the teacher brought the kids to a game room. In this game room there was no gravity and nothing to hold on to. The children were given guns to use. This was the beginning of the game which would make them great soldiers and leaders.
Ender was getting better at the game, and he knew that he was too. But before Ender got too good the teacher told him that he had to move up to a higher class. Nobody had made it into this class before the age of twelve. Ender was only ten. Ender found out some new moves in the game.
Then he started to make some of his own moves up. He made up a move that helped his team win a game that they were going to lose. Ender got news that he was moving up again. He did not understand. He was only eleven. And the only other place that he could move up to was to Captain.
Ender was called to meet with the Head Chief. He was given his uniform and a team to train. The team was the worst team there was. All of the children on the team were very young and new to the game.
To make things worse, the Head Chief told him the rules of the game had changed. Ender heard the new rules and did not like them. He saw his new team and did not like the way they were adapting to the game. But he found a way to change them. Ender had won all of the games he had played with his new team. But the games got harder.
His team had to play two teams in a day and also had to play against more than one team at a time. Ender did not like this at all. He told the Head Chief how upset he was and how he wanted to quit. Some kid wanted to hurt Ender really bad.
They attacked Ender but Ender won the fight. After the fight was done, the Head Captain called for Ender. There he told Ender that he was going to a new place; he was going to another spaceship. There he would be trained to be a Captain of all of the ships in the force.
Ender didn't want to go. But he had to. Ender had trained with the Captain for a couple of weeks. Then one day the Captain said that he was going to play a new game with Ender.
The rules were simple. Ender would be in one room, while the Captain would be in the other. Ender would be facing the Captain in a computer game. But after every game the Captain told Ender that he would be getting better and better. Ender one the game for the first couple of weeks. One day soon after Ender went into the room to play the game like normally.
But he saw all of his old Captains in the room. Ender found out that this would be the last game and they had wanted to see it. Ender but on the head set. Then he heard a voice. It was Enders old friends. They were going to play the game with him today.
Ender was happy again. Ender played the game and won. The he looked back and saw all oh his Captains crying and jumping up and down. Ender then found out that he wasnt playing against the Captain. He was really commanding a fleet of ships. So what Ender was saying is what the ships would do.
Ender was mad at finding this out. He did not want to destroy a race of people. He left the room crying. Ender had decided to go and live on the planet with his new wife Vall.
Ender had written many books on what had happened. But he never wrote a book on way he was not allowed to go back home, to Earth. Ender and his wife had lived until the age of 50. Then they had died together, Ender and his wife had gotten the biggest funeral in the Worlds history. Everybody had attended it. Even a couple of bugs who were not destroyed in the war 50 years ago.
It was a time for the World to remember. I think that this book was the best book that I have ever read. And I think that anybody who likes to read science fiction books should read this book. It really gives a good outlook on what could happen in the future. And what we could do today to fix it from happening. I also think that this book was written in a way so the people who read it could be able to imagine what was happening to Ender and what he was felling at the same time.
