In this piece I create a particular day with a girl and her pet. I intend to cause a deadly scene where the supernatural is involved. I also plan to allow the reader to make the story believable by setting it in the real world. This piece is aimed at all ages.
The sound of glass shattering onto the kitchen tiles was enough concern for Socks to investigate. He pounced immediately out of his personal rug and in a matter of seconds he was at the scene. It appeared that broken pieces of glass were scattered on the floor along with bright red tulips. He then looked up at the distress face of his owner Elisa, who had just arrived home from work. He decided to comfort her and gave her a juicy lick on her soft white face. 'Oh! Socks.
These were supposed to be for my boyfriend. I'm going over to his place tonight, 's he explained with a single teardrop, whilst rubbing her fingers through his golden fur coat. 'I guest I'll have to bring you along, you sweaty. Okay?' He barked ecstatically to highlight a 'yes. 's ock's was able to understand what Elisa had said as he was a Labrador and had five years of training. An hour prior to the departure, Elisa had tried on at least fourteen different outfits, which all looked dazzling. They arrived at the spacious double storey house with an eerie atmosphere due to the leafless trees mainly surrounding the estate. At the entrance a tall, slim man with electric blue eyes greeted them at the front brass door. 'How are you, Elisa?' he asked her cheerfully. 'I'm fine Darren. This is my pumpkin - Socks, 's he replied as they entered the house. Her first impression of the house was simply shocking. Clothes were spread on the couch to the floor not to mention the creepy appearance of the house, however when she reached the dining room she was quite stunned.
The setting was picturesque. 'It's beautiful. It's like we " re at a restaurant, 's he joked. Socks was left upstairs in a room with Darren's 5 -year-old sister well asleep. The sound of laughter was clearly heard downstairs as Socks began to shut his green eyes and fall asleep. He was interrupted by the sound of the little girl's cry. His eyes were opened as wide as possible, but it was useless in total darkness.
However, he managed to see an outline of a white transparent creature he had never seen before in his life. The cries got louder and louder, as the creature came closer to her. He barked viciously for a while until the thing disappeared into a wisp of thin air. The cries suddenly stopped. The bedroom door smashed open and in came Darren and Elisa, who Socks was relieved to see. 'What's going on? Jessica!
Jessica!' Darren screamed uncontrollably as he went to inspect. 'She's dead. 's ilene. It was not until a long period before anyone spoke. 'I'll call the police, ' Darren said softly with a slight quiver. No one had put a finger on anyone during the ordeal, however when the police had arrived they had already jumped to conclusions. They sound untrue to the ears of Socks. 'Well, it was obviously the dog. There's nothing else. You told me you heard ferocious barking.
Well we " ll have to take him away and put him down, ' one officer informed them sternly. Socks was in disbelief and so was Elisa. Socks tried so hard to express his innocence but it was hopeless. Why hadn't Elisa asked him? He thought.
He would have barked twice to tell her that he wasn't the murderer. It was impossible for him to communicate in words other than yes and no. 'Are you the owner of the dog, Miss?' the other officer asked clearly. No response. She was practically stunned and couldn't move a single bone. Her mind was full of confusion. How could this have happened?
She thought. She knew her dog perfectly well; she knew he would never hurt an innocent human being let alone murder. It made no sense, but it made sense. Socks was the only creature here and she had heard his strange loud barks that were never heard before. Hundreds of butterflies were flying heavily in her stomach and they felt like escaping. She felt liking vomiting.
Socks was ultimately put down; with his innocence lost.
