Imagine a world without traffic jams; where there would be no delay for work, no worries about travel schedules and above all no public appraisals from the English teacher for coming late to the class! Time would finally be stricken off the banal list of worries. This impossible to hit pitch however, lies in a plane where platitude is not well taken. This plane is one where advanced physics and quantum mechanics form frightening webs of reason for everything that happens in that other world - where we live. At other times the alien-like scientists that inhabit these planes have abducted us to conduct all kinds of meaningless experiments on us. However, this time its different; they have, arguably, after a long gap given us, the outsiders, something to marvel at teleportation.
Teleportation is Star Trek demystified. It is the phenomenon where a physical body disintegrates and then comes together at another preplanned position. That position, as we may already start to dream, could be a cubicle in an office, a classroom or perhaps even someones bedroom! Leaving the other two alone, the third one could become a problem of gigantic proportions. So when these particles collide, the speed of the particles of the object changes. And so, the position also changes. Therefore, if you really want to know how far something is, then you must first make sure that there is no light. Its very much like finding the table in the night with your groin. See that was easy wasnt it?
So what if I didnt get it! Now applying this to teleportation, if you cant measure which cell is where, then how can you replicate it? Not to worry, our super-brain scientists have come up with a solution. They have started experimenting on individual particles and small groups first. Its like, if you really want to know if a woman will like a particular skin lotion, then first it must be tested on a female monkey. The reason being that all women are made of tiny little monkeys.
The men, well that is even harder to explain than teleportation. For now it is enough to know that nothingness cant be explained. Carrying heavy and deadly weapons of mass destruction would become as easy as making apple pie. And like many technologies of the past century, if teleportation gets into the clichd wrong hands, it could become the greatest threat that mankind has ever faced.
The dream of a free world will become too frightening a reality. Also, when we talk of reality, another dilemma that arises is the teleportation of the soul. In this reality all of us have one, but would we still retain it in the reality after teleportation? This is where the eternal debate comes can science and religion find a common ground through teleportation or will teleportation put an end to the religious belief in the existence of soul?
What is soul to start with and can we define it? For ease of understanding, we will consider only the dictionary definition of soul as almost all religions have their own view of it. None, I may add, better than the other, for the simple fact that no religion can give proof of its existence. The dictionary says that soul is the spiritual, moral and immortal part of man. So, if the soul is immortal then it will not die and neither can it be taken away or changed. In other words, soul could be teleport able.
Now that that is solved can we all go home? The answer is a thunderous NO! Do we really want to get to our offices on time? Do we really want to miss out the opportunity to sleep more and make an excuse of the traffic? Do we really want 500 people to be there at 10: 00 a.

Now that the color code is in order, let us look at the gray. Gray is somewhere in the middle. Yes, teleportation would be a very nice technology to have but not at the cost of compromising our individual freedoms, religious beliefs and tradition. So, it is but imperative to find a technology that could keep unlawful teleportation under check. It is also important that it should be made as effective as the speeding regulations and not like the underage drinking ones for reasons I will not care to explain.
I am not 21 yet and know nothing about drinking so beat it! This regulation must include provisions for making excuses of traffic when one wants to and also that no good looking blonde will ever be allowed to teleport. Apart from these we can trust the federal government to come up with the most irrelevant and archaic law they can. The laws would be made and the souls would be teleport ed and the debate will arise, but only after our little hypothesis comes true in our lifetimes. And even if it does, they would fax all the Hollywood stars, the Democrats and the billionaires before our turn comes. Not to mention how much itd cost.
In fact, let us spare a moment to calculate how much this whole human faxing will hurt the old glass jar. For this we must consider two important possibilities. One, that it will most certainly be patented. And two, whoever cares to patent this technology, which without any exaggeration can be described as the goose that lays golden eggs, would not sell it for peanuts. So there go the dreams.
Even if teleportation happens tomorrow, you are not going! There is however a small ray of hope Jack had stolen the golden goose!
