Is Snow Really That Bad? (Final Draft, 1 st Essay) You may disagree with snow being seen as a beautiful thing, but this essay will convince you that snow can be enjoyable and pleasing to the eye. Ever since I was little I have loved snow because of the beauty that it has in it. If you dont believe me step in my shoes for a moment and capture all the wonders that snow has to offer. From the first moment it falls on the ground I look around me and see the glum faces of men and women of all ages. I hear the agony in their cry, Here comes another long winter. Their bodies start to slouch and become taut and cold.
They look at their beautiful rose garden that was once so abundant and overflowing with roses in the spring, but now is frozen and dead all because of snow. To me when I first step outside into the white winter wonderland all I see, smell, touch, hear, and taste is heaven. Shouts of joy come from my mouth, Alright, another long winter! My face turns a shade of little boy pink and I dash through the snow as free as a bird. For me snow symbolizes purity and peace, not death and hatred.
Yes, I know it does kill the plants that were so beautiful in the spring and summer, but snow brings its own life to things that people do not know about. For instance, if you take a walk around the woods or even your backyard, look around at all the different animal tracks and youll see that there is still life and not everything has died. Also, snow shows us how to be a kid again. Its looking at a father with his son and daughter out in the front yard building the best snowman in the world and inside mom is at the stove making hot chocolate that warms those cold bones and makes your face glow like never before. Its when your grandfather picks up a handful of snow and pegs it right at your face and you hear his bear-like laughter that always makes you smile, too. People also dislike snow because it brings on stress and physical injuries.
I mean you turn on your television to watch the news and they have health watches on how to relieve stress during the winter season. You hear how people have heart attacks and are hurting their backs shoveling snow. Well I can give you some advice for all the physical injuries. Either hire someone to shovel your driveway or purchase a snow blower.
Now to deal with stress, heres a little tip I have picked up. Take a walk outside where no one is around. Not even a child sledding down a hill, just you and the snow. Next, look around and listen to the wonderful silence and see the spectacular view in front of your eyes.
This little task will put all your stress behind you and all you seem to think about is nothing. Youre in awe by the sight of the snow and how it sticks so perfectly to each branch and how that little bit of sunshine is shining in through the trees and hitting the icicles just right so that they look like natures chandelier. My favorite part is when the top of the snow sparkles like there are thousands of diamonds all over the ground. It almost seems like the snow took out her favorite jewels to wear to show off her beauty. Some people hate snow because when it starts melting and drifting away from us, it becomes that slushy, gray, and dirty snow. Now I could be going against my beliefs by telling you this, but if it will get you to enjoy snow, then Ill have to tell you.
When the snow starts to become this way you should be happy to go outside and run around in it. This is so because spring is coming. I find it hilarious when I see everyone coming out of his or her houses to shovel away the snow when there is hardly any there! They say they do this because they are trying to get rid of it as fast as they can, but I know deep down inside they will really miss the snow and the wonderful winter that came and went so fast. You can tell because when you are talking to them their eyes go off into this far off place and they have this blank stare on their face. Theyre thinking of all the fun and joy they spent with their family around the warm fire or building a snowman.
I hope my argument was a success. I can only wish for more people to see and encounter all joys that enter my life when it snows. This winter when the moon turns that crayon yellow and the clouds start to thicken, go to bed with a smile on your face and dream of all the beauties that you will see, smell, touch, hear, and taste tomorrow.
