Freedom is something not what a lot of people can have. Sometimes people have to fight for it and some die in the process. Freedom is the reason of why a lot of wars start. People have been fighting for freedom for a long time.

The word freedom means: being free; independence; honorary citizenship. There are many different types of freedom, but they all mean the same thing in one way or another. Some of the different types of freedom are freedom of information act, freedom from slavery, freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and freedom of expression. Sometimes you have freedom without knowing that you have and sometimes you think you have it but in reality you don't have it because some body is constantly watching your every action. You may think that you are free but the truth is that you are just in a big cell that is in a big jail.

Freedom is something that you don't want anybody to take away from you, unless there is a reason to do so. You can have your freedom taken away from you without you knowing about it, for example: (from the Pedestrian) the group that want to take away your freedom will make you get addicted to the computer or television so that you don't leave the house. There were a lot of famous people that became famous because they fought for freedom. A few of them are martin Luther King Jr. , who fought for the freedom of the black people; William Wallace (1272 - 1305) who fought against King Edward I; Joan of Arc, who fought against the English. Most of the people that were fighting for freedom were mostly either executed in public or to simply torture them. In these days nobody is 100 % free, you may be free in a few ways but maybe not in all ways.

In a few countries of the world, you don't have freedom of expression and freedom of speech. If you say anything bad about the leader then you can be jailed. For example people in Iraq get jailed and maybe killed for saying anything bad about Saddam Hussein. Nowadays the government or a government organization controls the lives of many people, if they want to know what a person does everyday they can do that. They can find every little detail about anyone that is suspicious. In this world there are many evil people that try to take away our freedom so that we can become slaves for them, and a lot of time people rebel against them.

If you take someone's freedom your are also taking his human right, unless he or she did something that lead to taking away their freedom. No body has the right of taking away your freedom with no reason, and if there was a reason then it has to be something important. In Islam it is considered bad if you take away someone's freedom. You have to treat your servants as you would treat your brother and sister or your son and daughter. You must give your servants from what you eat and drink and what you wear. You have to do this in order to make your servants have freedom, because they might be far away from any of their family.

Also in Islam you must respect the people in order for the people to respect you. I don't think nobody will try to take away your freedom from you if you didn't do anything. If they do, then they might be really down right mean. When you kill someone, you become a murderer and you take someone's life away. If you take away somebody's freedom away then you are at the same time taking away there life. You wouldn't want any body to take away your freedom, so I don't think you would like to take away someone's freedom.

I don't think anyone would want somebody to take away their freedom from them, and if they didn't want their freedom, then I would think that they are simply insane. People are governed by a force or factor because if they weren't then there would be chaos. They are also governed because people tend to follow the law, and the laws are made up from the government. So a force governs people. Another example is, people don't go around killing each other because they know that there is a consequence.

So the government does control the people till a certain point. These forces can be controlled to a certain limit, and when they become out of your limit, you can't do anything about it. No body has the right to take away freedom from yourself or from any other person, not even a president or leader of any country. The only time when your freedom can be taken away from you is if you have done something really bad, and even then you must have a little freedom. To become a slave with no freedom is like a person with no life. If anyone with a brain were asked to either become a slave or die, I would think they would choose dying.

I don't think anyone would like to give up their life working for someone else. It's wrong in Islam and in any other religion. In conclusion I would think no one with a right mind would give away their freedom for any cause. It's not considered selfish, but it's the right thing to do. "A man can be free and not be great, but a great man will never be great if he were not free. " My life and anybody's else's life is governed by an outside force to a certain degree, but not to the limit. Bibliography:
