It is not surprising to hear poodle owners describe their poodles with flattering adjectives. These adjectives make the poodle seem just shy of perfection. Poodles are very intelligent and without a doubt one of the best canine companions to ever own. Not only are they intelligent but they are playful and loving.

I probably would have never believed that perspective, but it all changed when I met Bailey. Bailey is a six month old Teacup Poodle. She has a curly, fluffy come coat with highlights of apricot on the tips of her shaggy ears. There is also a little trace of the apricot on her back that adds to her personality. With eyes that have a tint of root beer brown, which defines her puppy dog looks.

When Bailey decides which toy she wants to play with she knows where to find it. She has a dark brown wooden basket that contains all her toys. Within the clutter of toy is a once white, dingy, and beaten little stuffed bunny. This bunny has decorative pink hearts in the middle of its floppy ears. Bailey received the bunny when she first left her mother at the young age of eight weeks.

The bunny is scented with her mothers odor and helped comfort her when she felt lonely. That may be the reason why the bunny is the only toy she continually plays with. Bailey clenches the bunny's floppy ear shook it vigorously as she growls and snarls at the bunny as it sways lifelessly. Bailey became frustrated when the bunny became caught in-between her skimpy little legs and she fell over.

She attacked the bunny as if it had tripped her. Bailey grips the bunny by the ear once again and whips it to the right, then the left, and back and forth until she became all in tangle with the bunny under her once again. By now Bailey is furious with the devilish bunny and leaves it lying helplessly on the soft beige carpet. She starts her way out of the living room but whips her head around to make sure the bunny has not moved. She takes two more tiny steps and whips her head around even faster than the first time. She inspects the bunny, and then is convinced that the evil bunny has moved despite her severe scolding stare.

Bailey ran back, grabs the bunny and shakes so violently that she loses her grip on the bunny's ear. The bunny sails through the air bounces off the far wall in the living room. By now Bailey is so furious with the bunny that she does not know whether or not to attack it once again or to just leave. She starts to run out of the room but stops and ran back to the bunny, so that it would know that she was the boss. She grabs the bunny and shakes the bunny so monster-like that she loses her grip and the bunny soars across the room slams into the couch and slides down the front.

Bailey ran to the bunny and grasps it in her needle piercing teeth. She tosses the bunny away from the couch and follows to see if the bunny is going to fight back. Realizing that the bunny has given in to defeat, Bailey trots happily and proudly away from the beaten bunny, to find another quest to conquer. Unknowingly I am her next victim. Dangling from a chair is my sock-covered foot. I see Bailey eyeing my foot and I know that the war is starting.

Bailey attacks like a cobra, grasps my foot between her front legs and gnarls mischievously. Her piercing teeth dig into my flesh and I gasp in pain. I knock her off my foot and she tumbles across the floor. Bailey gets up and stares at me with her piercing eyes, clearly in deep thought of her next plan of attack. She ran as fast as her little feet would allow her and grabs at my sock. She began pulling on my sock but I was unwilling to let her take it off.

After a little game of tug a war, I pull my foot out of her reach. While she plans her next attack she ran in circles around my chair several times. She builds up her courage to attack. Bailey attacks my foot once again and grasps it between her legs. I move my foot sharply to the right, but she maintains her grip as she walks on her hind legs and still bites away. I let her bite my foot as I continue to shake it a bit to keep her on her toes.

After a while the both of us became lose interest and she jumps on the chair and cuddles on my lap. I scratch at her favorite spot under her ear. Whether she is fighting the unbeatable foe or just cuddling, she is an all around marvelous pet. Being around Bailey has made me want my own teacup poodle. Not only is she intelligent and fun to play with, she is all around one of the best canine companions. Bailey seems just shy of perfection, with loving and playfulness.
